Let me know when they kill off Ellen, then I be back with bells on. (Hey, it worked on The OC.)

    • T

NO! Rose Byrne is brilliant and Ellen is a great character. I suppose you can’t be taken too seriously considering your grammar (then I be back) and the fact that you watched the OC.

    • Adam

The Patty-Ellen relationship is the absolute best thing about Damages. The show would suffer without Rose Byrne.

    Learn to DDL nOObs.

This is very exciting news! I don’t have DirectTV but I am very excited for everyone who does and is a fan of this show. I was very disappointed when it was announced that it had been cancelled. Hopefully, I can catch it on-line later or pick up the dvd as soon as it is released. Good move DirectTV

Great news, sort of. Since I can’t get DirectTV and who knows when/if DVDs will come out I guess I’ll have to watch seasons 4&5 via *ahem* other means.

    • Laura

No kidding – I won’t feel the teensiest bit bad about it :P

  • Neil

Amazing news, really happy that one of the best shows on television has been given a chance to end properly. I live in the UK anyway, so the move to DirecTV won’t affect me. I assume it will continue to air on BBC1 here…

Nobody has the right to complain. It was this or else death.

  • Matthew

This is the best news ever, except I don’t have DirectTV. But I am glad Damages lives another day!

Why didn’t direct tv picked up Ugly Betty?

    • Modwild

Because Ugly Betty didn’t star award winning Glen Close

    • HH

      Or Rose Byrne

I’ll have to wait for the DVD’s. I like the show, but I doubt that anybody will change their provider for one show.

Unless DirectTV or Sony works out a deal with Hulu or Netflix to stream the video, otherwise, it is useless to me.

I agree, it may have been canceled. Also, the Emmy should ignore Damages after this year!!

It is pretty sad when direct tv has to resort to buying shows just to get people to buy their system. This says a lot about this greedy company who really does not have “great” service anyway. Makes me Never want to switch to them!

    • Zoe

Oh come on. I’ve had DirecTV since 2001–way before the 101 channel existed–and it’s awesome. You even admit yourself that you don’t have DirecTV so, how do you know anything about the service? We have had channels that my parents didn’t get on their cable connection for years later, such as Hallmark and Ovation. And the 101 is actually a pretty decent channel; they saved Friday Night Lights and air reruns of great shows such as the Nine, Eyes, Deadwood, the Wire…I seriously doubt that DirecTV is surviving simply because of saving low-rated shows such as FNL and Damages! LOL

Directv is not greedy, I had there service since June 2001 and when I have a problem it is just a phone call away. And how they greedy anyway? They are the number 1 satellite provider in the U.S. Dish wishes they can swing deals like this. And you know how you hear about other cable/satelilite providers not renewing their contract with the content providers. Have you ever heard that about Directv? Yea I didn’t think so.

    • m

clearly, you don’t have directv. i have been a customer since 2004 and they have been great. before that i had comcast and their service and customer support dosen’t even come close. maybe you should give them a try before you judge them.

AMAZING NEWS! I had totally start to accept the fact that I would never see Patty Hewes or Ellen Parsons again…but this is just an awesome surprise. So excited. Can’t wait to see what they come up with!

  • Jane

I guess somebody up there really does love me.

  • Waage

Too bad Martin Short won’t be in it!

  • Pam

Wow. I still won’t change to DirecTV. I’ll have to get the DVDs on Netflix for $3 bucks. DirecTV should let the other cable networks show the programming and make them pay.
