    As someone who has watched all of these shows, I’m sorry, the ladies of Mad Men are untouchable. January Jones, Christina Hendricks, and Elizabeth Moss are in a class by themselves.

    • Abbey

      I agree, especially on Hendricks and Moss. I’m crossing my fingers for Connie Britton and Christina Hendricks.

    • Kurt

      I worry. The Mad Men women are going against a bunch of Emmy favorites, and the voters definitely tend to go their favorites. Hendricks’ episode, however, was brilliant and showed the many sides of Joan, the coolest female character on tv right now, so I’m hoping she comes out ahead.

      Yeah, January Jones acting talent is in the class that has to take the short bus.

    I’m such a huge fan of Mariska, so I’m completely in her corner on this one! The writing on SVU has been less-than-stellar as of late (like seasons 10 and 11) but you have to give it to the girl – she takes whatever they give her and she does her best to sell it. I watch SVU because of the Meloni/Hargitay chemistry – they are fabulous as partners with a hint of co-dependency. Neal Baer (the exec producer) better bring it this season because I don’t think CM and MH are sticking around much longer on the SVU set. I’d be thrilled if she won another Emmy this year!

    Hard to pick between Close and Margulies. Tight one there.

    Excellent episode submission for Rose Byrne and would like to see her get an Emmy, but Archie Panjabi has a strong showcase in “Hi” where she was sly and cool as Kalinda against Titus Welliver’s Childs.

    January, Christina, Juliana and Archie all submitted great episodes. The episode january submitted could have also been used by christina because they were both brilliant that night. Thats the episode betty busted Don and Joan went upside her husbands head with a flower pot! The episode Archie submitted came on last night. She is the epitome of a strong supporting character.

    I hope that archie panjabi wins for the good wife — they just aired that episode and she is fantastic — she takes what could be such a dull role and makes it so interesting.

    I think that Christine Baranski is great as Diane Lockhart, but her best episode submission would have been the one where she sleeps with McVeigh. My supporting Emmy vote would, in the end, go to Panjabi for her amazing work as Kalinda. The thing that sets her aside in my opinion is the fact that I can’t envision anyone else playing Kalinda, whereas the rest of these actresses may be replaceable. As for the lead Actress Emmy, I side with Connie Britton. Though I believe Margulies is the best actress on TV right now, Connie Britton deserves the Emmy for being constantly overlooked as the phenomenal Tami Taylor. Margulies would have ensured her win had she submitted “Conjugal.” Maybe this will help Britton!! {Fingers Crossed!}

    Trying to understand January Jones’ nomination… since she’s the weakest link in the Mad Men lineup. I saw her on some Lifetime movie, Love Comes Softly or something like that. Anywho, the pioneer woman she played was exactly Betty Draper…. same characteristics, movements, gestures EVERYTHING!!! It’s a dis to the other actors nominated in this category for JJ to be included….

    Just putting it out there…..

    My bet is for Sharon Gless. She’s was awesome in the season finale of Burn Notice “Devil you know” episode. It was cool when she hit officer Callahan.

    Mariska Hargitay is fantastic and deserves the prize. And it comes late

    It’s just insane to me that they have snubbed Katey Segal this time round. She delivered the best performance I’ve ever seen from a lead actress let alone from just this past season. For her to be bypassed in the nominations is criminal. January Jones? Really? Ridiculous oversight — shame on you Emmys.
