Someone used “squicky” to describe True Blood. I don’t believe “squicky” is a real word… I’m finding it kind of funny how many people are trying to compare True Blood to Dexter… when, in fact, you can’t. They are two totally different entities. The same person that said they didn’t care for TB, I can respect your opinion; having said that though, you need to remember that while True Blood is full of sex, violence and gore, it is also an HBO program that isn’t restricted to the same rules as the “regular” TV channels.

I find Dexter to be far more gruesome than True Blood mostly because the characters from Dexter are within our plane of existence… vampires, werewolves, shape shifters and maenads aren’t real. The thought of someone replicating the actions of Dexter or Trinity scares the crap out of me. I’m not really worried about Bill Compton showing up on my doorstep and trying to glamour me into letting him come into my house.

Dexter is a fantastic show and I have no doubts that the series finale will be completely mind-blowing (and that may be literal, who knows?), but I prefer to enjoy my little fantasy world that is True Blood.

And I’m happy that Michael Hall’s health is not in question anymore. Good for him.

Interesting how MCH talks about Dexter having a child now – instead of saying ‘children’. This leads me to believe Rita’s children will live with someone else.

I don’t have showtime either but I bought Season 4 on iTunes and watched it before searching the internet. I recommend doing that immediately before reading any more Dexter articles. Stay home all weekend, lock the kids in the basement with a Spongebob video, and catch up!

What a classy and wonderful man. So happy to hear he is doing better. Dexter is the best show on television with one of the finest actors of our generation. Literally cannot wait for season 5. Season 4 was utter brilliance.

Great interview. It wasn’t awkward or unnecessarily intrusive, just informative and those interviews are the best. Thank you Ausiello.

I’m so glad that Michael C. Hall is better :-) . Dexter + David ftw.

He is simply wonderful. A brilliant actor, calm, thoughtful, smart, articulate. And it meant something to me that the thing he found most disturbing about shooting Rita’s death scene, was the baby in the bathroom floor, amidst its mother’s blood. That scene just froze my soul. It was one of those rare moments, that although you know it’s just a show on TV, you feel so much for the character, that you get a bit heartbroken. And I am so so happy that he’s doing great, healthwise. He deserves all things great in life! Go Dexter!

Julia will have an important role, but I don’t think it will be a love interest. But at least Rita will have a cameo in the premiere. However, it still won’t be the same without her.

Well we love Dexter at our house and keep watching seasons 1, 2, and 3, and now season 4 re-runs..Will be ordering that next month and patiently waiting for season 5. Go Dex!!!

Um, is anyone going to make note of the True Blood connection… that Michael C Hall starred in Alan Ball’s previous HBO series Six Feet Under and that Michael C Hall most likely used his Six Feet Under royalties to produce Dexter on Showtime? Anyone?
