I adore the books — looove ‘em! I started reading them nearly 10 years ago when they first came out. AMAZING! BUT, that being said, I love True Blood as well. The show is great, I love the way Alan Ball is headed, and the cast is perfect. The storyline is kept interesting and NEW in only good ways.

I’ve read the books and I cant wait until they bring Quinn into the show!!Dont get me wrong I like Eric but theres something about Quinn that I love!!

Who is going to play Eric????

I don’t get why the book worshippers are complaining so much. First of all, if you want the story to follow the books, why are you rushing the Eric and Sookie story? Sookie had a major relationship with Bill before she even fooled around with Eric. Any real action between Sookie and Eric would come season 4 (though I suspect it will be season 3). And if I read one more person requesting the “shower scene” or “pink spandex” I will smash my computer to pieces. Are you that deprived of intimacy that you get your kicks out of a stupid scene? Just watch the show as it is and watch porn on the side to get your sex fix.

Like Charlain Harris said, these are two different entertainments and they might not end the same way. Sure, the tv show is based on the books but they are allowed to make some spins to the story so it’s not the books word by word, cause that would be really dull. Plus, like it was said on an interview, the book reading audience will only be of about 5% the other 95% doesn’t know the book’s story…
All I’m saying is to take both separately and if you don’t like the tv show that’s ok, but I don’t think bad mouthing the creator will change your life.

I love her teeth too. Anna is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect is boring; it’s the little imperfections that are most beautiful.

I started watching from the first episode of season one and I never read the books and I think the show is brilliant. It seems like those who read the books prior to the series anticipated a different show, so I feel lucky having had no preconceived notions. Either way, True Blood was born of the basis of Charlaine’s story that Alan Ball has turned into a multi dimensional series that I think is television genius. It evokes a deep understanding and relation to the characters and their struggles, human or supernatural.

I agree that the books were unheard of before the show so you should be thankful that Alan Ball saw the vision of True Blood out of the book series and that the show was good enough to be on HBO and not some regular channel because you would be a lot more disappointed. And if you really don’t like it or dont get it or think it has too much sex, don’t watch it and stick to reading your safe little books and watching twilight.

One of the reasons for all this Team Bill, Team Eric back biting (and really are we grown ups or middle school morons, stop it!!!!) is because Charlaine Harris is too lazy to write a novel in third person. This way we would see life from other character’s point of view and they would not be filtered through Sookie. The only way Eric fans get to “shag” him is if Sookie does. That is only reason you care if Sookie and Eric hook up.

I don’t think she DESERVES either of them…They should drain her and each of them find someone else…

Book or show I love them both, I do love the chemistry between eric & sookie. I think u guys are all missing the point sookie will more than likely give a few people her cookies. If u know what I mean. If anything Ball, is guiding us thru a jounrney of sookie finding herself, there will be a lot of room for trail and error with love. So I think she will have a few love affairs. Ultimately I personally would want to see her with Sam, Quinn or Alcide, someone she could have kids with and who has less limitations on life. But that’s just my opinion….
