Exclusive 'Fringe' video: Cast reflects on Olivia/Peter romance, and the show's endgame

Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t have to get violently pantsed or viciously gang tackled to enjoy myself during an interview. Read the full post.

That was a great interview. They seem like really smart, charming people. I doubt I’ll like the other universe as much though. Even if it is proven that Walternate and Altivia aren’t as bad as they seem, nothing beats the originals.

Olivia isn’t sexy but Anna Torv sure is. That accent of hers does wonders for her.

I agree with all the comments above me (except for the guy who can’t find the video) They really care about their characters and that makes me love them more. I am loving the theme of the show and I hope they can persuade me to like both sides. If I start caring for them (the alternates) I would be shocked at myself and for them for achieving it.

I love that they’re trying to challenge themselves, and the audience, with the direction of the story.

That was such a wonderful interview. It was awesome to hear the actors speak with such passion about their characters and about the show. “Fringe” is my favorite drama on TV and is the show I’ve most been looking forward to seeing again in the fall.

I disagree with their hopes of an audience seeing both worlds’ objectives, because, in series television, viewers need a routing interest. We need our protagonist with whom we can identify. What they are talking about is brilliant in a movie format but not series television.

I disagree. Many shows with more ambiguous/gray antagonists do very well. People sympathized with “villains” such as Ben on “Lost,” Darla on “Angel,” Sloane on “Alias,” various antagonistic doctors on “ER,” Wilhelmina on “Ugly Betty,” Lex Luthor on “Smallville,” Gul Dukat on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nin” and more. On television — particularly genre television — there is plenty of time to explore many facets of a character and the gray areas of most issues.

Fringe eases the pain of 24 being cancelled.

Wow they really love their show, that’s so awesome. What a great cast. I’m so excited for next season now!

  • Blake

I love this show so much and can’t wait for it to return. I’m really glad to hear that they are going to “push” the viewer a little bit and make this battle between worlds a conflict full of shades of gray. As much as I love Walter he did basically kidnap another couples son and experiment on unknowing children. I can’t wait to see how this develops.

  • Pacey Luv

Pacey is the best and Petownersmatch was good

  • stella

i love them all!Anna is so beauitful!

  • Kelly

Finally!! I’ve been waiting (not) so patiently for this interview to be posted! Now all we need is some more Fringe love in Ask Aus. :D

  • J

I don’t know what video y’all got to watch…but there’s nothing there now…not even a broken link. Anybody know what happened?

  • emily

The video is on the first page. It doesn’t appear on the second J.
I hope you get to see it, because the interview is a good one.

Wonderful interview, thank you! Just wanted to add that I don’t necessarily think they want the audience to ‘like’ one universe (or characters) over the other, but they want us to UNDERSTAND the motivations of the other versions of the characters, and sympathies with them. Will be great if they get there.
