I am VERY excited for this show. I love all the lead actors. I really, really hope this show takes off; Alex deserves to be on a hit show. As long as they don’t overly mess with the theme song, I’m good! :)

I never watched the original Hawaii 5-0, nor have I see even one eopisode of Three Rivers. I do however like Alex O’Laughlin and feel like this could be a hit, not just because of O’Laughlin but the whole cast’s ensemble talent. Can’t wait to see it!

  • Sharlin

I will only watch because I love Daniel Dae Kim and LOST.

    • julie

Maybe not the only reason but a BIG reason for me. He’s the only LOST actor that is actually doing something this fall so I need to get my fix. Love DDK.

      • julie

okay so i guess that’s not totally accurate since Elizabeth Mitchell is on V. i just can’t get into that show.

  • Blin

I like Alex, and hope the show works out for him.
What I don’t like is that picture, the gal has on a bikini but every single one of those good looking guys are fully clothed?
    Foul!

  • Linda

I absolutely can’t wait for Hawaii Five-0 to begin. I love Alex and I hope this show will be the hit he deserves. I think the Alex haters have taken their attitudes partly because of the more aggressive Moonlight fans and have taken their anger out on Alex. He is not responsible for what his fans do. The people who put Alex down would not recognize a good actor if they saw one. Go Alex !!!

  • Mike

If Grace Park is in more then a few episodes in bikinis such as the one she is wearing in the above picture, count me in

  • zozo

I can’t wait for 5-O because I adore Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim!!.

Why is it that some actors keep getting shoved down our throats? Specifically I’m referring to Alex O’Loughlin. Moonlight, Three Rivers and now this remake. I truly hope this is a hit for him, otherwise I’d take a break from being cast in the leading role and just do bit parts here and there…..Some people just aren’t meant to ‘carry’ a show.

I’m so excited about this show, Caan, Park, and Kim, but I really wish AO wasn’t the lead. I find him boring as pants and he’s not a strong actor in my opinion. His performance in Moonlight just left me wanting to see the far superior Jason Dohring as the lead and then go rewatch my Angel dvds.

    Grace Frackin’ Park!!!!!!!

The problem with this new version/remake/reboot whatever the word of the day is, is that statistically remakes never make it. Bionic Woman, Knight Rider, Melrose Place just to name a few that popped in my head. I know there is more, but I can’t think right now. Add to that they are taking on an icon in television history and an iconic character. It has so much stacked up against it before it even airs. Everyone will be comparing it to the original, they just can’t help themselves. It will be an automatic response. If one thing is not as they remembered it, they will tune out. Sure the pilot will get good ratings. With all the money CBS put into it and the way they are promoting it, it can’t help but get the numbers. They will need to sustain those numbers week after week. To CBS 10 million viewers isn’t enough to stay on the air especially with a show as expensive as Hawaii Five-O is to make. They already said their budgetis about $150,000 less per episode than NCIS:LA gets. All the bells and whistles that the pilot is getting may be a let down week after week if they can’t afford to do that. Also, I may be wrong, but I believe that the two main writers for the pilot (that got a great response) were only there for the pilot. They write for Fringe and have commited themselves for the next two or three years on another project. I remember reading that months ago when the pilot was first announced. That’s why I can have a little bit of an opinion as to how I think the show will do without the benefit of watching it. Also, it has competition on Monday nights. Castle is going into its third season and it has a very loyal fan base. I read posts from Alex fans that said even though they support him, they will not miss Castle for Hawaii they will record Hawaii for a later date. NBC has many great shows this season. Hopefully they will be out of their slump soon. The Chase is getting a great response. It’s lead in The Event was just screened at Comic Con and the reviews were WOW! it was worth the wait. A drama leading into another drama is a good thing. Hawaii has a comedy about overweight people who make fat jokes. How many people will tune in to watch that when America is plagued by obesity. I’m just sayin.

Alex O’Loughlin is one hell of an actor, hands down! I too am a big Moonlight fan, but I’ve also bought DVDS of some of his other projects, including “The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant”, “Feed”, “Whiteout”, “The Shield, Season 6″ and “The Oyster Farmer.” I also saw him on Criminal Minds. The roles he played were all varied and he was (and is) not afraid to take on characters who are not your run-of-the-mill good guys. For instance, in “Feed”, he played a psychopath. As his performances were excellent, I think he’s got the talent to back up his good looks. The fact that his last two shows were cancelled was not his fault. With Moonlight, CBS screwed up big time and didn’t have the foresight to see the potential. If they had kept it on for one more season, you bet it would be a big hit! As for Three Rivers, I just think it was the subject matter that got a lot of people down and they didn’t delve too much into the backgrounds of the different characters on that show. I’m hoping that Hawaii 5-0 will be a massive hit as he deserves the very best! You go, Alex!

I loved the original Five-O, Moonlight and what I got to see of Three Rivers. (The latter was shown whenever Sunday Night Football ended so it was hard to plan to catch it. By the time I found out it was moved to Saturday night, they stopped showing it. I will probably have to buy the season on DVD like I did Moonlight.) I am truly an Alex O fan and just know he will shine in the new Five-O no matter what part he plays!
