Press Tour 411: Highlights from 'Gossip Girl' panel

gossip-girlImage Credit: Giovanni Rufino/The CWIn attendance: star Ed Westwick and exec producers Stephanie Savage, Josh Schwartz, and Joshua Safran.

* My French sucks, but the first-look trailer we were treated to of Blair and Serena’s Parisian adventure was très magnifique! (How’d I do?) The juiciest spoilers from the clip: Blair pushes Serena into a fountain and Blair and Chuck have a tense rendezvous inside some famous train station.

* Savage pitched Warner Bros. the idea for the pricey remote via a sizzle reel that intercut generic images of Paris with scenes from the show.

* Westwick was so “blown away” by new love interest Clemence Poesy that he had a hard time distinguishing fiction from reality. I hope Jessica Szohr isn’t reading this. On second thought, I think they broke up.

* The third episode of the season will feature a Fashion’s Night Out-themed plot.

* Asked about the extent of Michelle Trachtenberg’s commitment this season, Savage teased, “You will be seeing more of Georgina Sparks in more ways than one.” I smell nudity!

* Jenny’s return later this season will be full of “drama,” said Savage.

* When the show returns, Gossip Girl will be MIA. “[Her site] will be under construction” ahead of a major relaunch that will add “some new features she’s never had before,” revealed Savage.

* “We definitely have ideas about where we want things to end,” said Savage of the show’s eventual series finale, “but we tend to go season-to-season.” Elaborated Schwartz: “We know what the island is… Manhattan.” (Additional reporting by Vlada Gelman)

i’m getting excited about this season…it’s looking better than last season. what a nightmare.

    • mandy

I know.. i hope season 4 is better than season 3. if not then the show is doomed for me.

  • Sammy

We are getting our Serena vs Blair this early? That’s a good start of the season

  • mandy

Please just give good sl for blair this year. i don’t want her to be whiny again like in nyu. and her to lose all the time. make her win for god’s sake.

what about katie? she has to be regular!!

  • Brooke

Jenny can stay gone for all I care. She adds nothing to the show.

    • Jaymii

She could come back recast. It’s not like Josh dislikes doing that.

    • Rebecca

I think I’m the only one that likes Jenny. In my opinion, her story lines are the most interesting parts of the show. The one I can’t stand on the show is Serena. I’m not sure why, but she bugs me big time.

  • Sam

    Zzzzzzzz

  • Audrey

I hope season 4 fix the mess that was season 3. Cant they understand we want good storylines and not stupid drama?

  • Intrigued

I am intrigued by the new features of the Gossip Girl website. What could they be?

  • Diva

Westwick is looking at another girl? Oh Snap!
Make Michelle Trachtenberg a series regular already and nudity? isn’t she suppose to be prego? I’m glad Jenny is gone for awhile but I still wish she was with Nate.
Hopefully they won’t ruin Kate Cassidy’s character because she has the power to save the show from the horrible last season. Don’t get me wrong I love GG but last season was probably the worst one.

  • Megan

I didn’t even bother watching the last season, but when I found Clemence Poesy was going to be in the next Gossip Girl, I was so shocked. I might have to tune in just to see her. I used to run a fansite about her when few outside France knew much about her. Look how far she’s come!

  • D

GG sucks so much, I aint watching but I hope for once in the season they have Blair be happy and keep her away from the miserable that Chuck brings her. So sad how awesome Chair used to be and they ruined it. I also wouldnt listen to Ausiello on anything GG related I am sure JS and SS pay him to hype their crappy storylines.

  • Em

WHO CARES? This show is dead. I bet they’re hoping Paris will somehow make up for the failfest the show’s become. Ha.

  • liza

They’re making me more and more depressed about the new season. Chuck will get everything again and Blair will get crapped on. Same as usual. Nice.

    • D

They should just rename it the Chuck Bass show huh? JS & SS have a permanent hard on for him it seems. jeez

  • Anna

Ed needs to not start up another workplace romance.

  • PMD

I hope that by revamping the GG website and all is not some sort of indication that Kristen Bell will not be GG anymore! The only thing that keeps me tuned into the show is hearing the lovely Bell’s voice and wishing that Veronica Mars was still on!

    • Rebecca

I know! I enjoy Gossip Girl, but I can’t believe it gets four seasons when Veronica Mars only got three! What are they smoking over there at the CW?

  • Kraaate

I think you mean “scissor reel.”
