Image Credit: Colin Hutton/Showtime; Jordin Althaus/Showtime; Jo* Former Friend Matt LeBlanc is well endowed. Well, the fictional version of himself that he plays on Showtime’s upcoming comedy Episodes is well endowed—a plot point he joked was a deal-breaker during negotiations.
* The biggest problem with Joey, per LeBlanc, was the crappy writing. Oh, wait, this is supposed to be a list of stuff I didn’t already know.
* Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe—who’s co-starring in Showtime’s cancer-themed dramedy The C Word—is “still a normal girl… I ride the subway. I ride the bus.” Heck, I don’t even do those things anymore.
* Tom Welling doesn’t take his role of producer lightly. The Smallville vet flew in from Vancouver just to attend The CW’s 30-minute panel for Hellcats, the new cheerleading soap in which serves as an EP.
* The CW’s Nikita is no Alias. Or Dollhouse. Or even the original Nikita. “We’re more of a Jason Bourne-type of [show],” said executive producer Craig Silverstein.
* The phoenix tattoo on Maggie Q’s thigh in the Nikita poster is the real deal. She got inked after a Fortune Teller told her she was a bird. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? ‘Cause I’m thinking what would she have done if the soothsayer said she was a Care Bear.
* One Tree Hill may live on beyond this season, threatened revealed CW prez Dawn Ostroff. Same goes for Supernatural, which Ostroff said she is “feeling really enthusiastic about… Everybody on the show feels there’s a lot of juice left in the characters. We hope it goes on for more than one more season.”
* With Smallville entering its final season, Ostroff said The CW is talking about adapting another DC Comics property for the small screen. That noise you hear is Wonder Woman firing up her invisible jet. (Additional reporting by Vlada Gelman)

Supernatural will die on Friday nights. Idiots over at the CW. And One Tree Hill needs to die. I don’t even watch the show and know that.
That’s what everyone said about “Smallville” and it was renewed for another season.
I have a feeling it’s just going to fall into the routine Smallville is in. By now, it has its set audience that will be there no matter what, no growth, hardly any loss. I dislike the move to Fridays just for convenience’s sake in my viewing schedule, and I thought Supernatural and Vampire Diaries together made one great night of quality horror/fantasty type shows. I know nothing about the original Nikita, but I love Maggie Q and like the premise and will give it a chance.
That is exactly why I think they moved it to Friday in the first place. Supernatural has an audience that is committed to the show, just like Smallville and even though I don’t watch Supernatural anymore, I don’t think it will be harmed by the move.
Truth is, as a pair, ‘Smallville’ and ‘Supernatural’ did better when they were on Thursday nights together. Yes, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ was the “big” ratings grabber for the network last season and it initially helped ‘Supernatural”s numbers as well, but towards the end of the season, ‘Supernatural’ was pulling in the same kind of audience ‘Smallville’ was on Fridays. So the network’s trying to recapture magic by pairing them again. It won’t increase ratings but I think it will give them a respectable showing on Friday nights.
This post has horrible grammar! So many mistakes Aushole.
Showtime rules with its’ premium cable shows right now (Dexter, Weeds, Nurse Jackie, United..Tara, Tudors etc.)–WHY do they feel the need to make a ‘well endowed’ aka HUNG show? Lame.
I you dont watch OTH, you don’t have an opinion on it. You can’t “know it has to die.” People who formulate opinions based on what they hear or what they pull out of their ass, are sheep. One Tree Hill isn’t dying, they’re getting the proper ending they deserve.
I’ve been a loyal viewer of One Tree Hill since 2004 and I agree that it needs to die. The show is just recycling old storylines and it’s become so completely boring and damn near unwatchable. The writers are clearly out of story ideas and they need to pull the plug sooner rather than later.
No it will NOT die on Friday nights. Folks, we live in a DVR world where time and commercials are no longer an issue.
OTH has sucked since end of s5, even with my Pey Pey. And I’m still upset about Melrose lol.
Ahh, finally somebody who is also mourning Melrose. I was so invested in the show and they just pulled it right out from under me
Tom Welling is way to attractive to just be an executive producer. Hope he finds another acting project after Smallville.
VERY excited about the possibility of another DC character coming to the CW!
Why is Tom Welling the executive producer of Hellcats? Come on, it’s garbage!
He was asked that a while back and he said he liked the story–”how much would you give up/change yourself to get your dream?”
Well, they *did* make the Aquaman pilot a couple of years back. I think that show would have worked. Unfortunately I suspect we’ll end up with Green Arrow as a spin off, and he can’t carry a show on his own.
they also had the Birds of Prey show a few years back that only lasted a season
If the spinoff is Green Arrow, it’ll be more of DC character showcase, kind of like ‘Smallville’ has become in the last couple of seasons. I don’t know if it would be a full-on Justice League show but you could bet they’d love the opportunity to have a forum to introduce characters to live-action without having to shell out the big bucks for movies.
Funny how you thought Aquaman would have worked as a show but don’t think the Green Arrow would because ‘he can’t carry a show’.
You do no that the Green Arrow and Aquaman are both played by the same actor right?
*edit* know.
I’d like for a Green Arrow Spin-Off, we already know the character and what’s he’s been through so they dont have to waste time looking for a star when we already have an Oliver Queen. Also I wouldnt if they did do the spin off and they started to allude to the Dinah/Oliver romance that’s in the comics whenever there was a chance for Black Canary to be in an episode. Also seeing Oliver train Mia would be a plus too.
Wonder Woman, really? No CW, no please!
I think that was meant as a joke since Wonder Woman is basically being left in the dust with all these DC movies and shows yet they cant even get a movie made about are favorite amazonian.
One Tree Hill needs to be put out of it’s misery! My god just let it end! Supernatural could go on. Wonder Woman… sounds horrible.
Um, One Tree Hill should’ve ended like 2 years ago. “Still juice left”? Those characters are BONE DRY. Nobody cares anymore.
Oh whatever.
I still care and I want OTH to go on for 5 more seasons. it will never end. k bye.
All shows end. Get over it. The end!
One Tree Hill shouldn’t go on for 5 more seasons. It should be given the proper ending it deserves which is what it is getting. People who wish shows that they don’t watch would get cancelled are just wasting their lives. Why don’t you take up a hobby or get a job instead of stewing in your stupidity?
Clay and Quinn… if either of them dies in the premiere I’ll be a little upset. I actually liked them and I really hope that if (hopefully not) OTH does end this season they bring back Payton and Lucas because we got to see their baby for like 26 seconds.
Also, Nanny Carrie is now on Pretty Little Liars and as B*TCHY as ever.
They said “still juice left” regarding Supernatural dumbass.
Yep, ITA. It seems that the writers were ready for it to end two seasons ago, when Peyton and Lucas left, and the finale had a feed-good, yet bittersweat ending. Subsequent episodes just seem like filler, and I feel bad folks like Sophia Bush couldn’t take advantage of meatier roles elsewhere…
One Tree Hill should have ended when Lucas and Peyton finally got married. It just feels different now. It’ll be interesting to see where Supernatural goes since it had been originally planned to only be 5 seasons. I’m lookin forward to it though.
If they can do a proper Wonder Woman tv show it may lessen my hatred of Dawn Ostroff. I’ll still want her fired but maybe I’ll hope they fire her nicely.
I hate hate hate to say it, but Showtime is too good for LeBlanc. Unless he’s taken some serious acting lessons. As funny as he (sometimes) was on Friends, I just don’t see him in a non-laugh track environment.
More One Tree Hill? Seriously, I didn’t even know that show was still on. But then, I’ve had no use for Dawn Ostroff or her “programming skills” since she made the idiotic decision to kill Everwood in favor of a final season of 7th Heaven. Ugh.
Here here! I’m still bitter about that.
I know One Tree Hill is 7th Heaven all over again. It’s the crappy show that would never die. Everwood was amazing, and stupid Dawn canceled it and decided to bring 7th Heaven back for it’s 11th season.
I know! Since I was a kid in the ’90s, when the WB and Fox used to have ‘family shows’ like Party of Five and 7th Heaven, I grew up on those shows. And I was an occasional viewer of the high school years of One Tree Hill, all the way back in the early part of the decade when Chad Michael Murry was the cute young tv star for tween girls to crush on and Gavin DeGraw’s song was a big hit. Now, just seeing the promos on tv or the online descriptions of OTH eps, it seems like it’s reverted to soap opera. And of my gosh, 7th Heaven is like the epitome of shows going on season after season too long, loosing all of their actors, and eventually becoming a parody of themselves.
Dumbest move ever. Everwood was amazing.
Yes, it’s no question that Ostroff is an idiot, and wouldn’t recognize a good show if it was shoved down her throat. I think her non-existent programming skills are going to destroy many shows. She’s thinks there’s a “lot of juice left in the characters” of One Tree Hill? Riiight. And extending Supernatural would just be…a bad idea.
Obviously Nikita is no Alias. Maggie Q is no Jen Garner. Alias is one of the best shows of all time, and you can’t compare some CW garbage to great TV.
“Alias” wasn’t that great, and Jennifer Garner is a mediocre actress at best.
Alias was nowhere near as good as the original La Femme Nikita television show. It got way bogged down in its own mythology, plus reused a lot of the ideas that LFN had.
I’m hopeful for the new Nikita, but I’m reserving judgment until I watch it.
Wow, why is a 9th season of OTH even being considered? I heard it was an expensive show, and The CW didn’t really even seem all that interested in renewing it for an 8th season. Lol, plus I’m pretty sure the contracts go up again after the 8th season so that means The CW would have to shell out even more money for a show that has seriously overstayed it’s welcome. The CW seems desperate!
I have been mad at The CW since they canceled Veronica Mars.
Amen. That is the only cancellation that I think about to this day.
Canning Veronica Mars was one of the only decisions Dawn has come up with that WAS right. Did you see that VM:FBI pilot? It was total crap. And the show itself was getting only 2 million viewers at a time when most CW shows were getting twice that. Putting it out of its misery was a great move.
I became a VM fan last season but I would have taken FBI season. Anything. Unmmmm most CW shows DON’T get 4 million viewers, just the Vampire Diaries. Dumb@$$
The CW would have to roll out buckets of cash to re-sign Ackles and Padalecki for a season 7. I don’t see it happening.
And I can only hope to God it doesn’t happen. as much as I love the show, it needs to go soon. There’s not a lot left for Sam and Dean to do.
They are already signed. Both Misha Collins and Jim Beaver confirmed it.
They are signed for a 7th season?! It used to be so amazing, but these last two season were painful. I spent most of season 5 totally embarrassed for Jensen and Jared. It was terrible writing, plot lines, characters. Bad everything and they knew it.
My guess is they signed on because they are a joke when it comes to movie acting. My Bloody Valentine and Friday 13th were total crap, and I fear any movie they try to star in will be.
They both need this show to keep their careers going.
There are just some actors that aren’t meant for the big screen, just like some actors aren’t that great when it comes to being on TV. I think if given the right script Jared and Jensen could be great in a movie, who knows. I love watching both those guys so I’d give them a chance.
Yaaay!! that’s good news!!! I’m really excited for season six — now I can hope for season seven too!!!
N they wouldn’t. The guys only problems is that they are far from families and friends. These 2 are BFF’s.
I know neither of these will ever happen because of the WB’s absurd film division rules, but how about a Batman show, done with the tone of the 90′s animated series and set in the Smallville universe, allowing for occasional guest appearances by Welling, Durance, etc.? That would be amazing, IMO.
I’d also love to see a Flash show spun off of Smallville and starring Kyle Gallner as Bart.
On the expensive end of things, they could use Smallville’s JLA in a Mission: Impossible-type show.
I’m hoping for a Green Arrow spinoff myself. Or a Justice League one. Green Arrow is already established, Justin loves playing him and Star City is ready to be saved! Let’s do this thing!
My thoughts exactly!
