Image Credit: Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic.comThe estrogenizing of Human Target continues.
The Fox action-drama has tapped Entourage‘s Janet Montgomery to join the season 2 cast in a recurring role, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Montgomery will play Ames, an experienced thief who ends up assisting Chance, Winston, and Guerrero on missions.
This marks Target‘s second major female hire. As I reported last week, the awesome Indira Varma has come on board as the new team leader.
Target kicks off its second season on Sept. 24.
Thoughts? Are you more apt to watch Target now that it’s a little more gender balanced? Hit the comments!

It’s on Fridays, so no one will watch it. Too bad; it’s a great show.
And if you thikn that, you really need to join the modern world. Who care when something airs? Ever heard of a DVR, a VCR, Hulu, the internet? What whatever you want, when you want. Geesh.
Tell that to “Dollhouse” fans.
What’s a VCR?
Yeah, but it’s the ratings that keep shows alive, and they usually don’t count internet and stuff, which is really unfair. I’m scared for CSI Miami too since they got that new timeslot
Totally agreed! Matters not that it’s on Fridays. A great new show is a great new show. Get on the technology band wagon and DVR it!
Ummm… most of the modern world can usually spell. :/
This show is still on?
I thought the same thing.
Always watched it last season. Can’t wait for it to start up. The cast was really good, odd and quirky. Makes no difference to me what the male/female ratio is. I was under the impression that Chance was the team leader. So, huh?
Who the hell is Janet Montgomery? Maybe a picture is required??!?!?!?
They should have Autumn Reeser recurring instead.
I thought that too! She was great and when they brought her back in one of the later episodes I thought that would happen.
Was she that computer hacker/ security girl? If so, I though she would be a ‘natural’ to join the cast. What’s up with that?
Agreed. I really enjoyed Layla/New Girl. Too bad she’ll be in No Ordinary Family this season instead.
This show is good but I’m worried that they didn’t have enough time to build an audience. So moving it to Friday seems like a bad idea.
I love this show…it was great the way it was, so I hope the new girls don’t screw it up!
I’m not going to dismiss the idea of adding female characters, but this really feels like something the network is pushing for and not the people responsible for the show.
My thoughts exactly. Reminds me of what happened on Law & Order in the early 90′s where they either had to add female characters or get cancelled.
Janet Montgomery who??? Who does she play on Entourage?
She plays Eric’s Assistant.
Really like this show, but Chance still needs to be calling the shots!
Could not agree with this more.
We’ll wait and see. I’ve never heard of her, so I don’t want to say she’ll be bad, but I really liked the show the way it was.
What happened to the FBI agent played by Emmanuelle Vaugier? I read that she was supposed to appear in multiple episodes but she was only in 2 of them in S1. She and Mark Valley seemed to have good chemistry.
Apparently she’s a series regular on another show and is unavailable.
Aha, thanks Brittany. Looks like she’s on Covert Affairs now.
It wasn’t broken. Why’d they fix it?
Why do the networks feel like they have to fix something that isn’t broken???? I LOVE this show as is. Come on Mark Valley is excellent, Chi from Pushing Daisies (one of the best shows EVER) and Jackie E. H. who is ALWAYS interesting. Get rid of the new women.
And get Bear McCreary back to do the music.
If Indira is the “new team leader”, then who was the old one? I assumed that was Chance or Winston. I don’t get that.
I thought Winston was the team lead with Chance doing the ‘dirty work’. What will happen to Winston now that Indira is the new team lead? I agree with other commenters – why screw with a formula that seemed to work quite nicely as it was?
Whadayamean, Jay, it’s on Friday and nobody will watch it? Not everybody is a party animal. There are actually people who are at home on Fridays.
