Exclusive 'Covert Affairs' video: Orgy episode coming up!

cover-affairs-perabo-gorhamImage Credit: Steve Wilkie/USA NetworkFor the complete story behind that provocative headline, scroll down past the jump and watch the interview I did with Covert Affairs stars Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham at Friday’s NBC/USA/Bravo press tour shindig. The clip also answers this tantalizing question: Which upcoming episode prompted Perabo to say, “I saw Chris going to the set that day. It was delicious.” Go ahead and push play. You know you want to.

Ahahah. That was funny. Seriously though? NO Auggie and Annie please. That would stink of ALIAS RIPOFF once again. Just.No. There’s zero romantic chemistry between them.. they’re good as friends. Glad to hear Auggie gets some love though (from others!)

    • Jimmy

Agree. The series is actually working for me even though at first I thought it was little more than an Alias rip-off without the fantasy elements. It may be that, but wasn’t Alias of rip-off of Nikita.

    • mallory

completely agree! i love them as friends! though i admit, when he was helping her learn how to fight that one episode and he patted her cheek all sweet like, my heart skipped a few beats! ;) it was just the sweetest gesture!

    • Allison

Disagree. I love the idea of an Annie/Auggie pairing and look forward to seeing their relationship progress. If you go to the Covert Affairs website on the front page there is a “blog” message from Doug Liman that actually says, “Chris Gorham, who plays a blind co-worker named Auggie, is awesome. So much fun to watch, and clearly the man she should end up with.” So it’s not like fans are pulling this pairing out of thin air.

      • Emily

I agree with your disagreement! I mean this relationship is clearly where the show is going. I think at some point there will be an almost kiss at which point her ex will come back into the picture.

      • Sharon

I agree with your disagreement also! I just love the idea of them together and I hope they don’t wait till season eight! The scene when he was teaching her how to fight was so cute

      • Vivian

Agree with disagreement. They aren’t the typical TV couple. But they’re still super adorable together.

  • rebecca

    Auggie is awesome, Love him!

  • Rebecca

I like the idea of Annie and Auggie, but I don’t see him as a Vaughn character at all. He’s more of a Xander type in my humble opinion. I am sure he will have to watch Annie hook up for a while…then maybe. That would work out I think.

  • Jules

Fans are already loving Auggie and Annie together as a pairing! I noticed that right AFTER the first episode, there were already like 20 music videos for them on youtube! That was FAST! And now after a few more episodes, there are more and more music videos for them!

The actors have fantastic chemistry. And the fans are obviously noticing!

And I hope people can STOP constantly comparing this show to Alias. Alias never interested me. Covert Affairs is more entertaining and fresh in my opinion.

    • Sadie

I agree, especially since I never liked Alias. Anyway, the Alias/Covert Affair comparisons are really annoying & getting tired. Alias did not invent the girl spy show. There was an excellent spy show called La Femme Nikita before Alias even showed up.

    • Amanda

I totally agree on everything. First, I never wathced Alias and I’m sick of hearing all the compairsons. But I love Covert Afairs and Annie and Auggie have such GREAT chemistry and I love the pairing already and have since the first episode!!!

      • Ramubay

Well, you have to respect the original otherwise there would be an air of ignorance about your statement. It would be like saying I’ve seen the new Star Wars movies but never the originals and don’t even want to know about them. Obviously this could have been a complete rip-off or a tribute and it seems to be the later which is good news. Also if it would be impossible to like Covert Affiars and not appreciate Alias because they are so closely connected. Covert Affairs has a long way to go to match Alias but at least its a good attempt so far.

      • Trenton

If by rip-off you mean it has a spy narrative with a female lead then i guess. But the tone of the show is different, she’s not out for vengeance b/c her fiance was murdered. It’s much her light, not nearly as pop/sexy….its a different show

      • Jen

I too have never seen Alias and completely don’t ever intend to because La Femme Nikita did it first and better. CA had my attention from ep one. Annie and Oggy are adorable together. I really hope they become the couple for the series. They’ve got beautiful chemistry. Here’s to hoping Annie lets go of the spy-jerk of a guy who she’s been mooning over and see what’s right in her face. Of course, not TOO soon… :)

      • Mary

I personally LOVE Alias. I own all of the seasons. It’s a totally amazing show. Covert Affairs is a different show. It has a different feel to it, and I think comparing the two shows is a stupid thing to do. I am thoroughly enjoying Covert Affairs and I can’t wait to see what happens! I hope I end up liking it as much as Alias. And Annie and Auggie are so adorable! I hope we don’t have to wait forever for them to get together! I hate when shows do that.

      • Sammi

I agree Annie and Auggie would make a great couple!! in the last ep that came out this week and they were standing nxt 2 each other i thought they would make the cutest couple we have yet 2 see this year!! and i thing there relationship would b great since they are already like best friends! cnt wait for this show to continue in the future!

  • Trenton

People its been three episodes…and someone said augie will have to watch annie hook up? Seriously, was that a joke or have you not seen the show. May or may not…Dude’s not xander b/c he can fight and is not totally worthless aside from taking up space and hitting fists with his face

  • Brad

I for one would not like this show to develop like Alias with all the cliffhangers and wild coming from left field junk. I’d like them to develop Annie’s agent status and give her a work villian like Gina Torres was to Jennifer Garner. As for Auggie, there is definitely something between him and the head lady. She is gruff to Annie, but has a definite soft spot for him. Plus, what about her old boyfriend who broke off with her mysteriously. They need to follow up on that.

    • Jess

Um…The head of the department is married…and I don’t think there’s any chemistry between her and Auggie. It’s must more interesting to watch how her rocky CIA marriage pans out than have her hook up with an operative under her command.

If you’ve watched the show, you would know that Annie and Ben are going to be a major story arc…at least for the season. She was brought out of training early in an attempt to lure this guy out of hiding. His story, who he is, his history are going to be explored a little at a time. So you have to keep watching.

As for Annie and Auggie, I think they’re adorable. I really like him as a mentor/friend right now. But I can see the chemistry and I can easily imagine their relationship developing into something very sweet later on.

  • Shotgun

Chris Gorham rules! Go Harpers Island alumni, glad to see you on a successful show!

  • Joan

A great show. Has it been renewed yet? No need to hook up anyone yet. It is so early days.

    • tvfan

      I agree!

  • Anon

I’m really liking this show. I also liked Nikita and Alias. The former had a British subtext that isn’t present in CA, which has an all-American, girl-next-door vibe (ironic since it’s got Canadian production credits). While the all-American vibe was classic Alias, I doubt CA will turn into another Alias. The subtext and Easter eggs in Alias are classic JJ Abrams and he isn’t working on CA. As for future shows, I hope the writers don’t make Annie’s character too sexy. She’s still young and needs time to settle into her life as an adult. It would be great to have her humble and show her mistakes as she learns her way. After all, she was yanked out of training earlier. Also, no love interests in the first year. Let’s see where things settle out with chemistry. Good luck to the writers. Great show.

  • ralph

i dont care if its like nikita or alias i like so who care and i like all 3 shows

  • Penny

I love Annie/Auggie and I hope they are endgame. The show is just getting started so obviously whatever happens between them will take time but I love their relationship and chemistry. The writers are doing a great job and I trust that they have a plan in mind for where everything is going.

  • TRACEY

Covert Affairs is a great show :) Never really been into ALIAS and dont understand why people keep comparing shows…nobody forces people to switch on their TV’s and sit there to watch anything…if you prefer ALIAS and dont like Covert Affairs then dont watch it and vice versa or if you like both shows then good…I just dont see the point of people going on either show’s websites just to diss the programmes…its just television guys and they all work really hard to entertain us all!! However the one thing that I DO know is that ALIAS does NOT have Piper Perabo…and that is enough for me :) I love her to bits and I think that they couldnt have picked a better actress to portray Annie…as for the Annie/Auggie angle I think that that would be a bit predictable but then again so would the getting back together with her ex love which we all know they will at some point come face to face…I’m sure the show’s writers will undoubtedly have something up their sleeves :) We will just have to keep watching to find out!!

  • Laura

    O.O….want episode 7 now please.

Anyway, the Alias comparisons are starting to become grating, especially since not everyone in the world watched Alias. Not everyone who is watching Covert Affairs watched Alias. Yeah, they’re both spy shows with a female lead, whoop dee freakin’ do.

Also, Auggie/Annie all the way lol

    • Sammi

i agree ive nvr seen alias. bt from wat ive read the 2 shows sound completly different and u shouldnt need 2 compare the 2 constanlty!

  • Carm

I did like Alias. I also like Covert Affairs. The shows are nothing alike, other than having female, butt kicking leads. Alias was super serious. CA is not. I never thought of Alias once while watching CA.

  • A.Tom

I am all for an Annie/Auggie relationship! I do think it is WAY too early for it though. Let it play out in the next few seasons. I am happy with sexual tension ect. between the two right now. But at the end of the show it would be awesome to see them together!
