Exclusive 'Fringe' video: Scoop on this season's mind-blowing twist!

fringe-nicole-jackson-nobleI can’t be certain, but I think the following interview with John Noble’s underrated Fringe sidekick Jasika Nicole from last night’s press tour shindig contains a massive season 3 scoop that is equal parts groundbreaking and mind-blowing. It also sheds new light on the thought-provoking conversation I had with Noble, Joshua Jackson, and Anna Torv at Comic-Con last week.

My computer won’t play this!! What does she say!!!!

    • Sadie

Spoiler alert! Jasika says season 3 will have two storylines running parallel to each other. 1st ep in altverse, then second ep will be our vers, then 3rd ep altvers, etc. It will run like that for most of the first half of the season.

      • who cares

so pacey will only be in half the eps this season? hmmm

      • JFWilder

Oh no…another JJ Abrams style flash-sideways. WFT. Count me OUT.

      • soulstryka

@JFWilder go back to watching the bachelor you pansy.

      • Fringefan

        cool!

  • ythu

    Yea I am Last !

  • Austin

    WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!!

    • Austin

Also, could Jasika Nicole be any more adorable?

      • Bruce_F

I’m pretty sure it’s physically impossible for Jasika to be more adorable than she is.

      • Elizabeth

Nope – love her to pieces…

      • Ames

What a pleasant person! It’s so nice to see people praising their co-stars instead being catty. Can’t wait for the season to start.

    • samara

help my computer won’t play this! what does she say???

      • Anon

        buy a PC :P

  • TV Gord

Whoa, indeed, Austin! I can’t wait to see this all play out! Every little nugget of information that trickles out about this series makes me salivate more and more for the new season to begin!!!

  • Ben

Wow! Was she supposed to say all that?

    • Jessie

I know! It doesn’t seem like she was, since other people from the show already gave away that we’d be seeing enough of the altverse that they wanted us to be indecisive about which universe’s characters we liked better, but nobody actually said it would be entire episodes!

  • samara

    WHAT DID SHE SAY????

    • Diva

she said they will alternate between the two worlds. One episode it will be this world and the next episode it will be the alternate world. Eventually the worlds will come together.

      • samara

oh, does that mean we will only see Peter every other week?!

      • Diva

That’s a good question. Probably since there’s only one of him

      • TV Gord

They’ll probably find some way to work him in. Maybe he’ll be the one who transitions us to the other side…or maybe he’ll find a way to travel between sides! Ooooo…

  • Diva

aww that girl is so cute

    • Bryan

I totally agree with you. I’m gonna have to travel out to LA and propose to her…LOL. She’s the one. No one else may have her (says Bryan’s inner-stalker)…

      • TM

Her girlfriend might have something to say about that. :)

  • Semaphore

I dunno, the alt-U is interesting but the reason I tune in is to see the original universe characters solve cases. A little goes a long way with the alt-U for me.

    • egghead

Olivia is imprisoned in the alt-U, so they have to resolve this major storyline.

    • Jessie

Based on the comments of the other people from the show, it seems like they’re trying this pretty unique concept where we see two versions of each character throughout a season of the show, enough that they want us to be undecisive about which version we like best.

  • tasha

samara -she says that basically the season is gonna alterate the episodes between our world and the alterna world with 2 plot lines (at least for the first half of the season) before the begin to converge somehow
and she also mentions that alterna astrid is actually has asbergers and is more like the walter in this univere and not as social as the astrid we have known and grown to love

  • Martina

Interesting, but not exactly “mindblowing and groundbreaking”… looking forward to it tho

    • TV Gord

      It blows MY mind…

    • Ruby

Well, there’s probably been a few movies and shows with two versions of each character, but none that I can think of recently. And how they ‘come together’ might be mindblowing. At least, when this show started two years ago it seemed like Abrams was keeping his now trademark sci-fi/fantasy, but going with a more procedural format for this show, but of course, knowing his shows, that couldn’t last long. So we’ll have to see how crazy complicated it gets…

      • Dicazi

        Farscape!

  • lalala

For those people that can’t see the video:
Basically, she said the first half of the season will have some episodes set in one world and alternating episodes set in the other world. The other world Astrid has Asperger’s (sp?), and she’s not as emotional and caring as this world’s Astrid. She says Lance likens the other world Astrid as being like this world’s Walter. She also said she has a great relationship with John Noble, sometimes going over to his house for dinner and watching episodes with him and his wife.

    • allie

Thanks! I don’t know why I can access the videos sometimes but not others. I love Fringe but as a former Lost fan, this sounds slightly different but in no way new or groundbreaking. BUT, I don’t care – it will still be awesome and I can’t wait for the season to start!

      • CarolAnne

I agree Allie. We’ve seen LOST do this so not new or groundbreaking but I’m also really excited to see Fringe take on this kind of storytelling. Thank god I have Fringe to help me get over LOST.

  • Steve

They talked about this at comic con. I thought it was old news. Jackson was saying it’s great because he’ll get to watch the show as a viewer now.

    • Martina

yeah, this was already my understanding too, so why is Ausiello getting so excited about it?

    • Abby

This was filmed on July 1 (Canada Day). Wonder why Ausiello held it over a month.

  • AuntieMM

Sorry but don’t intend to watch until they resolve the Alt-Olivia storyline…..reminds me of a bad soap opera plot.

    • TV Gord

      …not much of a fan, then…

    • Jenna

i don’t understand. i don’t watch soaps. how is this a soap opera plot? do they have alternate worlds & fringe science?

    • Duncan Houst

This is a brilliant plot point, and it’ll be interesting to see how it manifests itself onsceen.

    • HarveyTheComputer

The reason why she’s on the other side is to create chaos, and surely bring back Peter to the other side because his DNA can make work the machine that will create our world to collapse. It does not sound like it’s a soap opera plot to me.

  • DetJane

*brain explodes* this is going to be EPIC!

    I love Fringe. Love.

  • Andrew

Omigod, it wasn’t CANADA DAY Jasika Nicole. That was July 1st. Yesterday was Simcoe Day.

    • TV Gord

It’s a civic holiday, but it’s not Simcoe Day everywhere. Where I live, it’s Colonel By Day.

    • Kiki

its a civic holiday in all provinces, except st. john’s where they get it on wed, she probably meant it was a canada holiday …

    • Katrina

I know thats what i first thought she should try and get her days right
