'The Bachelorette' finale posts solid ratings

More than 11.5 million people tuned in to see Ali make her choice on the sixth season finale of The Bachelorette on Monday, giving ABC its best performance for the franchise since 2004. The Bachelorette was up over its year-ago finale by 1.6 million (11.6 million versus 10 million) and up 6% among adults 18-49.

The finale was Monday’s top-rated show among adults 18-49 for the eighth week in a row. As expected, ABC won the night in viewers (11.5 million).

CBS aired repeats of its comedies on Monday but still finished second for the night among viewers (6.4 million). Fox ran originals of Lie to Me and The Good Guys, which helped the network to rank No. 3 among adults 18-49 and viewers (4.6 million).  After a repeat of America’s Got Talent, NBC ran an original of Last Comic Standing – which tied as its lowest-rated telecast ever in the demographic – and an original of Dateline. The network finished the night in fourth place among viewers (4.5 million).

That was the best Bachelor(ette) finale I’ve seen since I started following the show (Diana’s season).

Lie to Me’s ep was disappointing last night, but the show overall has been great. Wish it could gain some traction.

      Did you mean Deanna?

I think so many tuned in because everyone wanted to see if all of the rumors were true or not. I really thought that she wasnt going to choose anyone and am so glad that I was wrong. It was one of the best endings I have seen in a long time! :)

All week the trailers for the finale seemed to be pointing to the guys not picking her. That’s what I thought was going to happen. She wanted one of them and neither one wanted her. Talk about being stunned by the outcome. But yeah, it was a very powerful finale. My girl was sitting on the bed, tears running down her face, and speechless when Chris looked up at the sky and saw the rainbow and smiled after being shut down by Ali the day before the final rose ceremony.

Oh my goodness. I was so excited; my heart was beating fast just prior to and immediately after Ali picked Roberto. Outstanding choice! God bless you both.

Well you can guess who the next Bachelor will be
