Additionally, Rosa Blasi—of Make It or Break It and Strong Medicine fame—has signed on to recur on the Texas-set drama.
MacDowell, whose deal I’m told is 98 percent done, would play the love interest of Jon Voight’s oil tycoon. Blasi, meanwhile, is set for the role of Blake, the Lady Macbeth-esque trophy wife of Mark Deklin’s character, Trammell.
Lone Star revolves around a con man (played by rising star James Wolk) who’s leading a double life. Friday Night Lights‘ Adrianne Palicki plays one of his two wives.

I agree. Dallas was totally off my radar, but buzz and this casting news has convinced me that this is a must-see pilot, at the very least.
Interesting you say that because I think Andi MacDowell is a weak actress and one of the reasons that I would not tune into the show. She single-handedly ruined Four Weddings and a Funeral because she was so weak compared to everyone else. I’m actually kind of bummed about this casting news.

Jeff, Lone Star is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews which point out that it’s unlike anything on network TV. CSI on the other hand is just one of very many crime procedurals, there’s nothing fresh about it nor does it have the character development to rise above average.
Fox is trying to put another show behind House. They should just give up.
House should be canceled, it is over.
I seriously so excited for this show. It’s the only new show I REALLY want to see. Adrienne Palicki is just can’t miss TV.

I am not one to past negative comments, but Andie McDowell is my least favorite actress ever!!! Cannot stand her acting, no offence to her personally.

I don’t know who Rosa Blasi is, but it looks like she’s had a nose job, chin implants, and a horrible face lift. Perhaps nature just made her that way, but I think she paid someone to mess her up like that.

Finally a show for adults and featuring quality actors. And this is on network TV? Stunning! And the idiot who says that Jon Voight ruins this show – would you prefer pretty boy Chace Crawford cast as the patriarch? LMAO! Say what you will about Andie MacDowell in her rom com roles (never roles that stretch an actress – Meg Ryan anyone?) but she’s damn good when she’s given the material to work with. Sounds like she’ll be getting her beyotch on in this which should be fun. This is one new show I’ll give a whirl.
Hoooray for Rosa Blasi’s addition to the show. She’s a great actress and I can’t wait to see what she brings to the role… However, boo to Andie MacDowell. She’s an awful actress who brings down every project she’s in. Argh… Hopefully she’s been taking some lessons lately…
