Sources confirm to me exclusively that Kevin Alejandro—a.k.a. Lafayette’s current squeeze, Jesus, on True Blood—is joining the NBC drama for a multi-episode arc as a possible love interest for Graham’s Sarah. Alejandro will have to duke it out with Billy Baldwin, who, as I reported last month, is also coming on board as a suitor for Sarah.
Alejandro’s character, Mike, is described as a blue-collar type who works in the warehouse at Adam’s company—where Sarah is now employed as well. The added wrinkle? Baldwin’s character works there, too as Adam’s boss.
In other Parenthood casting news, Zosia Mamet (United States of Tara‘s Courtney) has been tapped to play the recurring role of Kelsey, Amber’s moneyed new BFF. “She comes from an upper-crust kind of background,” exec producer Jason Katims recently explained. “It becomes complicated for Sarah because Amber’s suddenly being taken into this world that’s out of her grasp.”
Parenthood‘s second season kicks off on Sept. 14.

Could not agree more – no offense to Baldwin, but I was not happy to hear he’d be Sarah’s love interest, as I do not find him attractive at all. Fun actor, but something about the way he looks is not at all sexy to me. Now Kevin – major hotness, which I think Sarah (and LG) deserves!
Like AND dislike! Does this mean there’s going to be a lack of Jesus on TB in the future?
Maybe he’s tragically killed by a vampire in the finale. That could leave some free time for Parenthood. It’s just a theory.
He may not start on Parenthood till True Blood is wrapped for the season. I think, and I could be wrong, we will see more Jesus next season on TB.

Oh Jason Ritter. I want him back. Although that would mean that “The Event” would’ve been canceled, which would be sad for him. But good for me as then he would be in Parenthood again. Which I want because the likelyhood of me watching The Event is slim to none.
Jesus dies in a few weeks on True Blood anyways. You should see how too! Drugs are a bad thing kids, a very bad thing.

Say it isn’t so! Every character on TB is romantically-challenged as it is! And Alejandro’s character would have met an unfortunate demise just like on “Ugly Betty” and “Sons of Anarchy” – bummer!
If that Event thing doesn’t work out, there’s another guy on that show *besides* Jason Ritter who would make a great romantic interest for Sarah. He’s even close to her age. And follicularly challenged.

i am pretty sure that they have already filmed the season finale of TB.. so i think he will have the time. and TB usually starts filming around christmas time.. so all depending on how many episodes he is doing he can make everyone happy and do both
Isn’t Kevin also on Souhland? I agree that this doesn’t look very good for his role on TB.
I think I read a few months ago that to save money, Southland had to cut a few characters. I think he was one of them.
