Exclusive: 'Bones' breaks off talks with The Situation

Here’s the sitch: Jersey Shore‘s superstar guido will not be appearing on Bones after all.

According to exec producer Stephen Nathan, plans to have Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino guest-star as a murder victim in a Shore-inspired episode have been scuttled.

“The Situation is not going to work out,” Nathan tells me. “There were so many contractual difficulties with MTV that it just became an impossibility.”

As a result, an actual actor will more than likely fill the minor role. “But the episode will still be our little tribute to Jersey Shore,” Nathan assures me, “and it will do what many people in America would like to see themselves—which is one of those people dead.”

He’s kidding about that last part. I know because this is the sound he made after he said it: “Muhahahahahahaha.”

About time someone from that ‘show’ gets knocked off. Even the freaking picture for this article just screams ‘I need a good swift kick in the nads’.

    • Brittani

      Amen.

      • Keira

OH thank god. I’m so glad they aren’t gonna have that huge douche in an episode; however, I still think the Jersey Shore ep is WAYYY too gimmicky. It reminds me of the midget wrestler episode from season 4… and I hated season 4.

Well, hopefully they can pull it off… please don’t become a joke again, Bones!

      • Jeff

“It reminds me of the midget wrestler episode”
Or the episode with Stewy, the cartoon baby from “Family Guy”, another forgettable moment.

LOL seriously. And I’ve never understood why he’s so freaking proud of those abs. I mean, sure they’re better than a lot of people’s, but they’re not thaaat great and there’s something weird about them. No, I don’t have a perfect body myself – but I would never assert that I did and use it as my claim to fame in the bizarre way this dude has done. And I hate that these people make more money per episode than I do per year for doing nothing productive and in fact soooo many things that are counterproductive. I just can’t wrap my head around it.

        Thank you K,
I totally agree there is somehting weird about his abs. I do not find them attractive at all (they looked deformed or something). He is my least favorite character of all the Jersey Shore people, not that I really like any of them but the situation (and WTF is that anyway) is by far the worst of them all.

    • Cheery

I can’t believe Bones was even going to give that tool more exposure by having him on the show! That’s one way to lose fans, even if his character is dead/gets killed. Let that idiot peddle his janky abs elsewhere.

      • Liz

Seriously! When I first heard the news that they were negotiating with him I was just so sad because Bones is way too good for this.

  • ST

Glad about this. Honestly I would not have liked it if “The Situation” were to guest star. A tribute to Jershey Shore is fine, they’ve done those in the past but let’s not get carried away. though I’m sure Kristin Cavalari would be happy to fill the roll…

“and it will do what many people in America would like to see themselves—which is one of those people dead.”

    Thank you. :)

  • Krystal

Halle-frickin-lujah! I’m glad I don’t have to stop watching Bones; I definitely would have had this went through.

    • Sam

People who stop watching an entire series over one guest star are idiots.

      • Natalie

        Sam, have my babies.

  • J.G.

    Praise God!

  • silverrose

    miricals do happen

    • Kathy

      miracles*

  • skylark

Great, I might even watch the episode now, might be interesting to see Brennan interact with them.

  • DripPan

Freddy Kreuger/Robert Englund was a kewl guest appearance. Zooey Deschanel was a great guest star.

‘The Situation’ wouldn’t even come close to what these other stars bring to Bones.

  • Peter Freeman

Are you sure he’s kidding about that last part? I know I wouldn’t be.

  • Gretchen

    Two words – WOO HOO!!!

    • Todd

      Amen to that!

  • M

“The Situation is not going to work out.”

Probably the only time in history that sentence has ever been uttered.

    • Nic.

Too funny! I laughed out loud when I read your comment! Thanks! :)

    • fish eye no miko

      [snerk]
      That was awesome. (-:

  • Michael TX

Good b/c I would have stopped watching.

  • lark

I like the Situation and wish he could’ve appeared.

  • Alichat

THANK GOD. Was not looking forward to that episode.

  • Po

Thank God. This was a terrible idea on a show that’s become worse every season that it’s been on the air. The show has become a boring, gimmicky, “how-many-times-per-season-can-we-have-contrived-moments-when-the-characters-ALMOST-kiss-but-oh-crap-someone-walked-in-the-room-at-the-last-second” mess, and I don’t now how they can save it.

It’s funny, I’ve been rewatching The X-Files on Netflix lately, and I forgot what a subtle, nuanced relationship Mulder and Scully had…The romance blossomed so realistically and was so well written that we didn’t MIND it taking six or seven seasons to really happen. Meanwhile, the hacks writing Bones think that adding in artificially created roadblocks in Bones/Booth’s relationship will keep us hooked, when in fact, it’s just getting boring. :(

I say this as someone who LOVED Bones when it first came on, and through the first three seasons or so I was hooked. But as time goes on, and the show gets hokier and the plots get more boring, I’m lost interest. Don’t get me started on how terribly written the “cases of the week” have been the last few seasons. Sigh.

    • JC

Haha I’m the same way and getting the same way with “House”. I hate when these shows start to focus on the romance between the two main characters and now it will happen on “Fringe”! Bones was something to watch on Thursdays until “P&R” and “Community” came out last year.

    • Jesse

Amen to that! I completely agree, couldn’t have said it better.

    • Jeff

Reluctantly have to agree – this show is becoming a parody of what it was, or could be.

    • Casey

Completely agree! I used to love this show, and then it got all campy and crappy. I can’t even watch it without cringing anymore.
