My source asked me not to spoil the big reveal until after the show’s third-season premiere on Sept. 13—hence the speculative item I ran last month— but then Trevor Donovan (all but) let the cat out of the bag yesterday when he tweeted the following:
“I read all your tweets and know you are all curious about the ‘gay’ character this season. Let me say, gay or straight, relationships are relationships. Everyone goes through the same kind of troubles and joys. A gay storyline will have an added issue of dealing with judgment from others. Acceptance, by family, friends, society, and self is just one of the concerns the character will be going through. It is a part of life, and it should be portrayed. I was told, and am confident, [that] the storyline will be written very well and the change in the character will be organic, NOT overnight. It’s going to be a great season 3. I look forward to chatting with you all as we progress.”
Gotta love/hate Twitter! (BTW, even though Donovan didn’t actually come out and say Teddy is gay, I can confirm that he is. I can also confirm that the name of the actor playing his first boyfriend can be found here.)

I am excited to see how this goes, it is most intresting that they never hire Gay actors for these parts, I have a hard time believing they could not find a qualified gay actor in holywood.

@ Erin: The point that he was trying to make is whenever there is a casting call for a gay character, most often times gay actors are never considered for the role!

actually, in many cases it’s the raging womanizers that are gay. instead of coming out they overcompansate by sleeping with as many women as possible so they wont be accused of being gay.

I hated Dixon and Silver together. Was warming up to Teddy and Silver though… apparently he wasn’t.
I’m not sure how “first love” and “soul mates” necessarily correlate. That kinda attitude has lead to a higher than 50% divorce rate among young married couples.
I dont think it matters anyway. Everyone knew it was him and the ones that pretended not to were Teddy/Silver fans who couldn’t face the truth.
im not really surprised that its teddy sometimes when a guy over compensate by having sex with lots of girls its usually trying to prove to himself that he is not gay.
Maybe an over generalization. At least the “usually” part. The “sometimes” might be more accurate. I think it does happen. But probably not enough to be called “usually.”

I’ve always wondered why people are so negative toward anyone who dares to post a negative comment on a board. Aren’t we all allowed to have an opinion. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t make your own opinion any less relevant…why get so uptight about it unless you’re defensive?
