Linda Hamilton), my mind immediately went here: James Bond is Chuck’s real father. Admit it, yours did too.
But is it true? Did 007 and Sarah Connor make a baby named Charles Irving Bartowski?
“Consider that theory squashed,” responds executive producer Josh Schwartz, who declined to reveal what connection Dalton’s character shares with Mama B. “We’ll only say that they’ve known each other for a long time.”
Landing Dalton is a major coup for Schwartz and fellow EP Chris Fedak. The actor—who allegedly turned down an offer to join the third season of Sons of Anarchy—hasn’t appeared on an American series in more than three decades (since a 1979 stint on Charlie’s Angels). How’d they manage to lure him back?
“With my charm and Fedak’s singing voice,” deadpans Schwartz. “That’s not true. We’re huge fans of Mr. Dalton, not only for being a badass Bond but for his comic work in Hot Fuzz and The Rocketeer.
“In truth,” Schwartz continues, “we’ve wanted to have him on the show since season 1. When we came up with this part, we thought he’d be perfect. So we sent him [some episodes], he dug it, and then we started talking.”
Dalton makes his first appearance in Chuck‘s seventh episode, titled “Chuck Versus the First Fight.”
Chuck‘s fourth season kicks off Monday, Sept. 20.

That said, I am PUMPED to see Timothy Dalton on Chuck!

Agreed – Scott Bakula was great as his dad. I think Timathy Dalton will have some connection to Sarah – maybe her father?
Long lost Uncle maybe? It would be plausible that Chuck’s mom had a brother he never knew about…
That would be cool. If they ever make Scott Bakula NOT Chuck’s father, though, I’m gonna be mad!
Uncle sounds about right to me. There’s no way that Bakula couldn’t be Chuck’s father with Bakula and Levi’s strong resemblance in the eyes.

It’s amazing how “Chuck” is able to attract such a diverse bunch of actors for their guest roles! I guess these actors know excellence when they view it; that, and the cool mix of comedy, action, drama and romance that is “Chuck”!
You’re absolutely right, Chuck is a perfect mix of everything you mentioned! I seriously love all the casting announcements and hopefully some of them will get people interested in checking out the show.

Chuck vs. the FIRST FIGHT? With who, Chuck and Sarah?
That’s the first two that come to mind.
They’ve already had a first fight(About moving in together) so I hardly think it qualifies…unless that wasn’t really a fight? *ponders this* I suppose it would make the most sense…*sigh* Well, as long as they stick together I suppose I don’t mind a fight or two.
Tim Dalton was the first bad ass Bond! Awesome! He could be Chuck’s grandpa, but he’s not that much older than Bakula or Hamilton

Connery was smooth and debonair and he kicked some ass, but Dalton was more like the Daniel Craig world-weary Bond who didn’t always walk around grinning. His films were much darker than the Moores and Brosnas (excepting Goldeneye) that followed

When I read about Casey’s “A-team” casting just a few moments ago, I said every Chuck news brings to mind one word: Awesome. This other Chuck news that came mere minutes right after I said that just proves my point even more.

Scott Bakula is so obviously Chuck’s real father. Please don’t mess with the canon. But I applaud the casting of Timothy Dalton and I can’t wait to see what he brings to the fascinating series that is Chuck!
I don’t think that Dalton’s character will be a family relation to Chuck. I’m thinking he was part of the Intersect team along with Roark, Orion, & Mama B. When Chevy Chase guest starred as Roark he made a dig to Papa B about how he always ‘got the girl’, my guess is Roark & Bond coerced Mama B into leaving her family…with Roark dead, perhaps Dalton’s character is now in charge of Elizabeth’s ‘custody’. We shall see…Sept 20th can’t get here fast enough!
It’d be cool if they brought back Roark in a flashback
I was thinking either part of the original Intersect team or their boss/handler–certainly NOT Chuck’s ‘real’ dad since Bakula’s character has been so well-established and Chuck is so much like dear old dad.
