EW Emmy Party video: Connie Britton previews acceptance speech, teases final 'FNL' scene EVER

emmy-party-2010What was Connie Britton’s reaction upon learning that I pegged her as the dark horse to win the lead actress Emmy? “That’s just silly,” she guffawed at Entertainment Weekly‘s pre-Emmy bash last night in West Hollywood. Silly or not, the radiant Friday Night Lights all-star confessed that she has given some thought to what she would say should her name be called out Sunday night. (I’ve given some thought to what I’d say too, and it goes something like this: Sweet Jesus almighty, God is good!) Britton also handed me some scoop on her final FNL scene and the latest on those Prime Suspect ‘talks.’

I hope she wins! She has always impressed me in her acting.

  • Abbey

That would be my reaction to a Connie Britton win, too.

i really really hope it’s tim’s big open field and riggins finally gets a happy ending but that’s probably some mighty wishful thinking on my part…

    • A

Texas forever! Awww. I love this show.

    • Sammi

Actually you probably aren’t far off because I believe I read an interview with Taylor Kitsch where he said that him and Derek Phillips filmed the final scene of the show. I think that’s cool but I do think the final scene should have been Kyle and Connie. They both better win the Emmy!

      • julie

i think it would be fitting for the final scene to include either the taylors or riggins. all three are the heart of the show and the only reason i’d be excited if it were tim in his field is that it would possibly mean he finally gets some good stuff coming his way. now, if i could be in the field with him that would be even better…

aw man i do wish the final scene had kyle & connie since they have BEEN the show for 5 seasons. that would’ve made the most sense. riggins was big, but was essentially just one of the footballers and won’t even be a regular this time.

      • julie

while i agree with you @JP about the taylors, obviously, i must disagree about riggins. he was more than just one of the footballers. almost every interview i hear given by anyone on the show has said that riggins was at times the heart of the show and if they could have had him the full season this year they would have. both parties moved things around so he could be in the 5 episodes we’re lucky to see him in.

connie<3 such a talented and nice lady. i'd be happy with either her or julianna.

  • Tony

How can Hollywood justify being age biased when this fantastically gorgeous and awesome actress blows the competition away??? Going to miss FNL and glad she and Kyle are getting the attention for their craft that they have deserved for so long.

  • Ryan

What boggles me though is that they made a 100 percent decision to end where there will only be 76 episodes, and what if Kyle and Connie win? They will still end? Boo. They should do season 6! bring it to 99 or an even 100 episodes and THEN call it quits!

  • Joel

I love, love, love Connie Britton!! She and Ausiello are a hoot together. I hope either she or Kyle win so we can hear some final accolades about this wonderful series.

    • Dolphin

I hope they *both* win. ;)

  • JP

    LOVE<3

  • ash

    I hope she wins.

  • amy

Not sure I will even watch the emmys. I know I will be so dissappointed when Kyle and Connie don’t win. I have little faith the awards ever go to the people who truely deserve to win.

    • amy

Oh and by the way..I just love her! She is soo fab is kind of makes a person sick!

  • Alex

Is she really gonna do Prime Suspect? Coz that would be the definition of awesome.

  • Jonny

The final scene is in the DVD. It is when Riggs is building his house. The whole cast was there having a good time watching the sunset. Texas Forever!!!!
