Emmy Video: 'Breaking Bad' boy Aaron Paul gives award-worthy PRE-show performance

The Emmys were just about to begin, and on the red carpet, there was soon-to-be winner Aaron Paul, acting his butt off as if anyone still needed convincing that he was award-worthy. (We knew, Aaron. We knew.) First, he revealed why he chose the Breaking Bad episode that he submitted for consideration, then he resorted to cliché to describe his hopes for a victory for the show. Of course, given that he is a master thespian, it didn’t come off in the least bit clichéd. See for yourself by watching the video after the jump.

CONGRATS AARON PAUL! You deserve it yo. July 2011 countdown starts now…

  • Ash

SOOO happy that Aaron won!! (and Bryan, too…for a 3rd time) Awesome show!

  • Bill

So refreshing to see someone so deserving actually win an award. More great things to come!

    • rj631

Agreed. I can’t get irked by Mad Men or Breaking Bad winning over and over again because they actually deserve the awards! The only problem is Dexter keeps getting overshadowed…

      • Marshall1

Yeah,no matter how good Mad Men and Breaking Bad were, I still think Dexter this season really deserves the statue, intense, top-notched acting (poor Jennifer Carpenter), tight script..

  • sara

I was so happy to see Aaron win, so deserving, he and Bryan help make Breaking Bad the best show on television!

    • MCS

In my opinion, Paul was the most deserving winner this year. His performance was just tremendous throughout, and then as soon as that final scene cut to black, I knew he deserved it.

I agree with you. I do wish Lost hadn’t been shutout, and I absolutely adore both O’Quinn and Emerson and respect the work that they did on Lost, but Aaron Paul deserved the Emmy. He earned it.

  • Marshall1

    Oh yeah, Aaron Paul’s HOT!

  • kp

Aaron is sooooo goood! glad to see such a young actor do great work.

I will never watch another Emmy awards again. Shut out Lost? Done , done and done for me. F You, Emmys

    • Zombie Jesus

Well, take your toys and go home then, one less blip on the radar.

      • iKitty

“Lost” people are kinda of pathetic. And apparently quite whiney.

  • Marshall1

All these people who think Lost should win everything tonight just wants so because it’s the last season. You guys probably didn’t even watch the other show. Lost last season is above average, let’s just say.

    • Zombie Jesus

Yeah, imagine giving awards to shows just because it’s their last season. Where was Arrested Development’s trophy?

  • JMaG

I was SOOOO happy him and Bryan won. I really thought after that, they might sweep with best Drama. But in the end Mad Men won with that (honestly) brilliant season finale last year. Its weird I didn’t disagree with any of the picks this year except for Best Actress in Drama going to Kyra Sedgwick. Julianna Marguilles or my personal favorite Connie Britton should of won.

  • Brandon

So happy Aaron won, but it really sucks LOST was shut out. I wanted LOST or Breaking Bad to win best drama.

  • Me

    SO HAPPPY FOR HIM!!!!!!!!!!
He’s such a talented actor, like Bryan Cranston.
I’m so happy with all the other acting winners except Kyra Sedgwick, thats a big upset, but I haven’t seen her show though.

  • guilty pleasure

I am sooooo thrilled and happy that Aaron Paul FINALLY won a well-deserved emmy 2nite!!!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!

  • Mindy

So happy for Aaron Paul! He is so great on that show. O’Quinn and Emerson are also great, but they already have Emmys. So glad to see Aaron Paul win one!

So happy Aaron paul won and that his young age didn’t keep him from taking home the award that he so richly deserved.
