Emmy Video: Jim Parsons suggests a 'dirty' twist to Sheldon's 'Big Bang Theory' nomance

Filed under: TV and tagged: , ,

Just before being handed his first Emmy for The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons revealed to me why he was scared to win. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. He then went on to share the intimate details of Sheldon’s first date with Amy (Mayim Bialik)–and the surprising impact it has on Penny!–as well as the potential for the nerds’ “nomance” to get dirty. Titillated… or terrified? Either way, check out the video after the jump, and let the funnyman fill in the blanks for you.

He looks really sweaty. But I was sooo glad he won.

Wool suit? Crowded red carpet on a sunny day in LA? In August. Sweat is understandable.

  • Strawberry Sparkles

I was thrilled, too. And Jim Parsons is the cutest man ever :)

Didn’t want him to win at all. His performance is annoying.

You might not like his character, but his performance is perfect.

So thrilled for Jim! Love him, Love the show!

  • Cris

I dunno … the show is fine, but I just don’t get the love for his character. He’s never grown, never evolved, it’s the same jokes over and over with Sheldon. I don’t hate the guy, I just don’t see where all the love for his character comes from.

I think that’s the beauty of Sheldon’s character that he is completely unaffected by what people think and social norms. He live sin his little Sheldon-world and loves it there. However, I do thing he has grown, his grasp over sarcasm and “bazzinga” shows he has.

    • Sarah

Actually, Sheldon *has* grown. He’s much closer to Penny and tries harder to understand social conventions and to be more polite.

As the flashback episode shows he has never evolved because to sheldon he is the best of evolution. if you like. He believes that he is at his greatest so there is no room for imporvement or personal growth and the annoying aspect is him acting, he is meant to be a tad irksome but I think he deserved the emmy. Jim Parson is frakking amazing.

His character continues to get so much better every season. He has so much depth as an actor. Only an idiot wouldn’t understand this true comedic talent. Glad to see Jim recognized for his outstanding performace. What a truly funny character amd show.

  • Rachel

Sooooo happy he won! And if you don’t understand all the love for Jim/Sheldon, I don’t understand you. He’s an outstanding actor and he deserved this Emmy by a long shot. GO JIM!!!

I jumped out of my chair when Jim won. How many times is it that a true underdog wins the award. So often they are overlooked. Can’t wait for the new season of Big Bang. And can’t say enough how elated I am that Jim won this award. Someone got it right!

I’m happy he won, but I wouldn’t call him an underdog. He was favored to win! I just feel bad for poor Steve Carell. He has never won an emmy for his performance on The Office and that is just sad. But still, I’m very happy for Jim!!!

      • Anon

Steve Carell is the comedic equivalent of the Emperor’s New Clothes. He’s never won because he doesn’t compare to Ricky Gervais.

  • Alex

So glad that Jim won. I wanted him to win last year, and I’m glad that he finally got the Emmy that is so well deserved. Hopefully the show gets at least a nomination next year!

  • Joan

So glad that he won. Love me some Sheldon.

For an entertainment MAGAZINE, EW sure hires some lazy writers. One paragraphs and then it’s “oh just watch this video.” A magazine is for reading, it’s not a television channel.

    • JS

You do know you are currently looking at the website for EW and not the magazine itself, right???

  • austinrob

Congrats Jim! I’m glad you won & I really think you deserved it!!!

  • cici217

SOOOO happy he won the award rather than overated Baldwin, Carroll etc. maybe this finally signals a move away from awarding people in mediocre poor-ratings shows.

  • Andrew

Sooooooooooo glad he won! I screamed at the top of my lungs and jumped outta my chair when they announced he had won! Way to go, Jim!!! Way to go!!! Can’t wait for Season Four!

  • Nick

What happened when he won?? There was no people cheering and excited around him. Where were his co stars!!
