'NCIS' Scoop: Pauley Perrette confirms 'big Abby story coming'

Getting scoop out of the casts of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles can be tricky. But at Friday’s 2010 Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film pre-Emmy hootenanny, I gave it the old college try, grilling Pauley Perrette and Barrett Foa to within an inch of their lives. What did I find out? Former Avenue Q denizen Foa revealed what he and new on-screen sidekick Renee Felice Smith get up to in his trailer when they’re not theatre-geeking out, and Perrette all but confirmed that this is the season Abby’s elusive backstory will take center stage.

Yay! I adore Abby–can’t wait to learn more about her. :_

  • Clarissa

I love Pauley. I think I’d rather meet Abby’s deaf parents than her brother though.

  • Nerwen Aldarion

Anything with Abby in it is going to be good!

  • Jackie

Pauley and Barrett are adorable. One of my favorite things about Pauley is that she is SUCH a fan of NCIS, and really seems to know her character inside and out. It makes her performance that much better.

    • Michelle

That’s actually one thing I love about the entire cast of NCIS – they watch their show and when speaking, can reference things going back many seasons, and often know episode names. Not many actors remember that sort of thing.

      • DetJane

I totally agree! The best part about NCIS is that the actors really genuinely love and watch the show that they work on. It’s rare, and probably a big part of why the show is so excellent.

  • Cheery

I love Abby and NCIS!! Thanks for the Pauley interview.

Kinda funny that that Barrett guy mentions how NCIS: LA is trying to get a Tony/Ziva type relationship going. Nice try! Guess the male lead “bromance” isn’t working?

The spinoff sucks and copying more and more from the original won’t help.

  • Jean Genie

I love her, too. I hope her character isn’t going to get pregnant or whatever – for years, I’ve seen people on this or that saying how Abby should grow up, grow up, grow up. Instead, it would be fun to see other aspects of her life expand.

    • Sue1

I agree. Her character is caring, smart and resourceful–she’s as grown up as she needs to be. I’d love to see more of her and Gibbs’ history.

  • Kimi

I still hope for a “McAbby” matchup, though I doubt it will ever happen.

    • RJ

Oh me too! Love them together. I wouldn’t mind Tony & Ziva hooking up, if it’s written well, but my ideal couple would totally be “McAbby”!!!

  • Debbie

think it’s great! Abby (Pauley) deserves a bigger part in the show!

  • Bigbri

I can’t wait to hear about her back story on how she actually joined the NCIS team. I also want a little story on how Tony actually was selected to the team as well.

    • cynthia

Amen show Abby’s after hours on the show. Love her car, also; we need more info on Tony.

  • Renee

    Oh good! I love Abby.

  • BJ Wanlund

FINALLY! Some backstory on Abby (aka the hot goth lab chick) on NCIS!

hopefully it will be the moments spent with McGee and her in the coffin………..

  • NCIS Fanatic dot com

Using Safari on Mac OSX, the videos just won’t play. Are they available anywhere else?
