It was supposed to be just another fun, spoiler-filled pre-Emmy interview. But by the time I was done talking with Community player Joel McHale, I not only had gotten him to spill the deets on the NBC laffer’s Halloween episode, I had nabbed myself a speaking role. (I think I did, anyway.) Plus, I turned him green with envy by vividly recalling a hands-on experience I’d had with… Oh, right. I remember how this works. You watch the video after the jump, and that’s where you find out the answer. See ya there!

you go Mike!! always on the pray for a part on the best shows!!!
let’s hope Community and Cougartown get Emmy nods next year. They deserve it.
oops! I meant on the prowl. (sorry, English os my 3rd language, so I have an excuse)
i didnt like this show at first, but after a few episodes, i really started to like it and an waiting for next season.
The show got progressively better and it’s one of my favorite shows now. I can’t wait for it to return next month!
biggest snub this year… no Community nomination, no McHale nomination… McHale is right to be a little pissed off.
Zombie Ausiello! Grrrr, Arrgghh!!!
Community should have been nominated instead of The Office this last season!
Chevy Chase should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the Cinco de Mayo episode alone, that was one of the funniest half hours I’ve watched on TV in a long time.
agree, but i think he was even better in the hallowwen episode, NOBODY was funnier this year than chevy as the beastmaster (“i’ve never seen beastmaster, i just wanted to be cool”)
You are referring to the Cinco de Mayo episode.
No I think it wasn’t thecinco de mayo espisode, it was the Día de los muertos espisode
This was my favorite comedy this year. I know all the praise is for Modern Family but I think Community beats it hands down. I watch both shows but Community is the one that has me laughing through the whole episode.
Agreed 100%
Community is on par with Modern Family for my favorite new comedy of the year. Both are hilarious, well-written, and acting is superb. It’s a mighty shame Community didn’t get a single nomination while The Office got the usual Best Comedy and Best Actor nominations for an incredibly mediocre season.
Amen
24 days til the new season! Not that I’m counting or anyhing….
I thought Community was not quite consistent enough to garner a Best Comedy Emmy nomination. I like the show, but I wasn’t upset or surprised that it was left out this year. But it was getting better and more consistent towards the end of the season, so hopefully that is a good sign for an improved season 2. Looking forward to it. Joel McHale is awesome.
The paintball episode alone was deserving of nomination, not to mention the whole season. The funniest show on network TV by far. Love ‘Community’ and the entire cast!
Absolutely right! In my view The paintball episode “Modern Warfare” is Emmy-material. The episode received critical acclaim from critics, too.
Joel McHale deserved to be nominated, the rest of the cast should have been nominated in supporting categories and the show should have been nominated. Basically Community should have dominated and they didn’t even get nominated.
Community is the best Comedy on TV right now, in my opinion. It’s also one of the most creative. Has any other show taken on such diverse themes as an “action movie” or a “mafia movie” and successfully transitioned them into half-hour sitcom episodes that don’t stray from the main story being told in the season? I have watched many shows, both drama and comedy, take creative spins for an episode or two but can’t recall any that actually kept the season’s arch in perspective throughout it all. Community is awesome and by far the best ensemble Comedy on television right now.
I think the “under the radar” comment really hit the nail on the head. I completely missed the show until reruns this summer, and now I’m hooked! I think it’s one of the funniest comedies on television at the moment.
Very funny show. I agree, it has progressively gotten better. Love the random references and homages. (The paintball and chicken finger episodes are two of my favorites.) The supporting characters are unique, likeable, and funny. It deserves some recognition from the Emmys next year.
