Emmy Video: 'Castle' star Nathan Fillion confirms timing of Castle-Beckett hookup!

victor-websterImage Credit: Adam Taylor/ABC; Albert L. Ortega/PR PhotosIt’s hard to imagine any man alive giving Castle leading man Nathan Fillion an inferiority complex, but that’s exactly what Victor Webster did the first day he stepped on set to play Beckett’s new boyfriend. “I don’t look up to many men, but that guy is tall,” Fillion confessed Sunday on the Emmy red carpet. “He’s, like, big. I stand next to him and I’m eye to eye with his chin.” In the end, Webster’s towering biker dude won’t prove to be a serious obstacle in the Castle-Beckett saga. You see, Fillion went on to not only confirm that the unrequited lovers will indeed hook up, but he practically pinpointed the date it will happen! The revealing video is after the jump!

Watch out behind you, Nathan, it’s the Trinity Killer!

    • Zombie Jesus

      You sir are a wit

    • Jersey Jeff

Please cancel this show, so Nathan can do something wothy of his talent and tight pants.

      • Mark

Why? It’ll get canceled in five episodes.

      • Stormy

If it’s going to be cancelled I hope it’s in time for Nathan Fillion to be cast as the new Rockford.

      • Kate

“If it’s going to be cancelled I hope it’s in time for Nathan Fillion to be cast as the new Rockford.” Ken Tucker, is that you? : )

      • Stormy

Nope. Wrong gender, wrong age group and wrong geography.

      • april-ann

I agree with you, Stormy. Although Castle is a good show in some ways (his daughter and his mom), Nathan Fillion is above it and is worthy of being the star of a superior detective show.

      • Katie

Are you serious? Have you even watched Castle? It’s such a good show and the two main characters have great chemistry. Sorry, but I think it’s excellent.

      • april-ann

Yes, I watch Castle and yes I’m serious. The majority of the murder “mysteries” are completely ridiculous and serve merely as a backdrop for the “chemistry” of the two leads. That makes for more of a romantic dramedy than a great detective show. Plus I find Beckett a turnoff. Sorry, but I don’t think it’s excellent.

  • Ykira

Let’s hope he’s wrong because no one would stick around that long. I love the show but the will they/won’t they gets old by the time you hit season 4. You need to bring them together and write creative stories for them. Then I’ll stick around through season 8.

    • Summer

I don’t know. That doesn’t happened to Bones yet.

      • dalla

Right, and I stopped watching Bones because of it. It just gets old.

      • Stormy

I would have stopped watching Bones a long time ago if it wasn’t for Angela and Hodgens. I’m completely fed up with Emily Deschanel. She’s about as sexless as glacier.

  • tamara

    he’s adorable….
I only watch Castle for Nathan. I skip through the boring cases stuff, and watch the banter between the characters, specially his. :)

    • Stormy

ITA. But I also love the segments with his daughter and his mom.

  • Michelle

As long as it’s done better than Bones, I will stick with the show. It’s Nathan for pete’s sake!

  • Bellie

I love him, he’s so handsome and charming!

  • Generation Gossip

I am so excited!!! Wish I could hook up with Nathan LOL

Castle and Beckett’s chemistry is so hot I can’t imagine waiting that long. I’m with Ykira, around season 4 I need to see this couple together and I’ll happily stick with them for years. I just can’t sit through another Bones debacle.

  • cc

Oh Nathan…you are SO adorable! I don’t agree with the whole keep them apart until the show burns out though. This is a talented bunch….they really need to step up. Come on Castle writers, you can do it. Lets get Castle and Beckett together and make it work. The banter and tension doesn’t die just because they are together.

    • Jill H.

Exactly cc!!!! I agree 100%!! There’s so much that could go on after they’ve hooked up :P Just like in Heat Wave! I mean come on, they wrote the book but won’t use that in the show?! We’d still have to keep guessing at when they’d actually hook up again cause we all know Beckett would make him suffer a while first :P I would love to see that!! much more than having nothing happen for so long

  • EmmaLeeLove

Hmm, I’m not too sure about Season 8… how about Season 3? :)

    • Monica

I can’t wait till Season 8 to see Beckett and Castle hook up. I think the crew needs to be creative, something like Mr & Mrs Smith (or should I say Mr & Mrs Castle)…. I’m sure the pair will sparkle. Waiting till Season 8, they would be too old… for that.

  • darla

If Nathan wants to continue to have a show, he probably shouldn’t piss off a large section of the Castle fan base. I don’t know how people see this guy as charming. He always seems smug to me.

    • crystal

Love this show and Nathan as an actor but he does come off as smug or a tad cocky sometimes.

  • Stephanie

Castle is simply the best show on television and I am a fan through think and thin. I fear with pursuing that – will they/won’t they – dance too long, Mr Fillion, and it will put the show in jeopardy for reaching a Season 5, at best. There is still a lot to learn about the leads before putting them into a relationship, however that dance can get over-played if carried on too long. Castle simply has the most creative and talented writing staff and outstanding acting cast, that if anyone could pull of putting their two leads together, this show is to break the mold and will be extraordinary. The chemistry of Castle and Beckett will still work, if not even better, together.

    • Brenda

      Stephanie,
      I couldn’t agree more.

  • Kittie

Screw Castle. Bring back Cap’n Tight Pants Mal Reynolds!

    • yelhsa

      TRAPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!

    • Nat

      YES SIR, CAPTAIN TIGHTPANTS!!

  • ProudTVJunkie

Nathan sounds so scared to lose a great show and I can’t say I blame him. Making and sustaining a hit show is hard. But if you put two characters I love together and write entertaining stories for them, I will watch your show live, every episode for seasons to come. Keep them apart and you’ll become Bones which now sits on my Tivo for days (sometimes weeks) until I find the time to watch it.

    • MB

      That’s just goofy.

  • Catherine

No Ausiello videos are working for me today. FML.

  • Alia

I adore Nathan Fillion for sure — there are at least half a dozen quotable moments just in this interview — but have they learned NOTHING from Bones? If they hold off on Castle/Beckett until the very last moment, they WILL lose viewers. Myself included.
