I love The Gates and Scoundrels also…fingers crossed that there will be another season of each..these are the types of shows that should be cont!!!!!! SAVE THE GATES!!!
My summer viewing:
Rizzoli & Isles
AGT
Wharehouse 13
White Collar
Covert Affairs
Dark Blue
Burn Notice
Flashpoint
Eureka
Leverage
and The Gates.
I really hope both Dark Blue and the Gates come back.
Scoundrels was dreadful. Poor Virginia Madsen. She is so talented, but chose a horribly written show with a mediocre cast. The show was unwatchable!
Before everyone jumps on the bandwagon of how great cable networks are, and how the horrible “Big 4″ routinely cancel shows, let me just remind those who watched it that USA unceremoniously canceled The 4400. Same thing with ABC Family and Kyle XY. Both great shows, both along the same type of genre, in other words not main stream. I have decided to forgive USA since they have brought me such gems as Burn Notice, White Collar, and In Plain Sight. Covert Affairs was a good newbie from USA this summer, as well as Memphis Beat from TNT. Leverage always rocks my world and I rather liked Rizzoli & Isles. But my problem with the Big 4 is that they throw shows into the summer and then are surprised they don’t make it. I really, really liked The Gates this summer, and I really, really hope they bring it back. Scoundrels was not as good as it could have been with the cast they had. But The Gates really surprised me with how much I liked it. I was expecting some type of Supernatural Stepford show, but it was better than that. I feel like if a network knows that a show isn’t going to survive, the least they could grant those who did devote time to watching a show they produced is provide some closure. Usually they just end with a big fat cliff hanger that is like a slap in the face to those who put in the time. Bring back The Gates!
I will be honest, I tuned into The Gates the very first night just to get a laugh. Then throughout the summer I felt as if I had drank some of Devon’s crazy tea as I found myself glued to the tv every Sunday night just to watch. Although the show is extremely outlandish, the characters and their motives behind every move drive me to continuously tune in. I hope that it is among the summer shows that we will be seeing more of in the future.
Love the Gates…..please bring it back….
Here’s hoping The Gates get picked up by a cable network if ABC drops them. It started off interesting and only got better. To me it’s better than Rookie Blue which got picked up. It’s another of those predictable cop shows we’ve seen dozens of times with far better acting.
