Exclusive: Fox stages 'Bones'/'SYTYCD' crossover!

bonesImage Credit: Greg Gayne/Fox; Mathieu Young/FoxMethinks someone over at Bones is a closet reality TV addict. The Fox hit—which just wrapped production on a Jersey Shore-inspired episode—is now setting its sights on So You Think You Can Dance.

Although not an outright homage to Fox’s summertime sleeper, the episode will take Booth and Brennan into the world of street performers and feature a guest appearance by SYTYCD MVP and burgeoning actor Stephen “tWitch” Boss.

The cycle 4 runner-up—who returned this past season as an all-star and took part in what was arguably one of the best hip-hop numbers in SYTYCD history—will play a suspect in the murder of a popular street entertainer.

Boss, whose Bones episode is slated to air in November, appeared in this summer’s big-screen dance spectacle, Step Up 3D.

I think they should have more than one dancer on it! D-Tryx would be my choice :) i heart him!

    • Andrea

D-trix is one of my favorites too! :)

    • Jen

meeee tooo! Him and Hawk were magnificant on ABDC……

  • Heather

Another Lame episode, Hart. Just end this crap of a show now.

    • nevin

i don’t even watch bones, but i feel it’s necessary to say, haters gonna hate.

    • Jeanette

Shut the hell up. Stop watching. Simple as that.

i’m sure the one inspired on jersey shore will be MUCH MUCH worse. essa m*rda não vale nada, são um bando de p*tas e cabr**s que não têm mais nada para fazer do que fazer m*rda, e ainda por cima acham que são famosos e que o mundo gira à volta deles. But this season will have good things to, like, when Brennan realises that she is “solving her own murder” and wasting her life in things that doesn’t matter at all…

      • Liza

I actually think the Jersey Shore one has great potential to be a good episode. The fact that Brennan views guidos as an anthropological group/subculture and, like, understands them…that should be funny!

    • Heather

See, you have to be intellegent to understand this program, sorry an IQ under 80 doesn’t qualify…..

  • Jacques

OMG … and not in a good way…

Not one single spoiler that makes me want to watch. Actually the more I read, the more I think I’ll skip season 6. What a waste!

    • Jeanette

I’m a David Boreanaz and Booth fan. That’s why I’m watching.

      • Erica

I agree. Just because a couple of episodes don’t sound that great, doesn’t mean that the whole season is going to suck. Come on, people. You have to suffer a couple bad episodes so the better ones can be the best.

      • morgan

im the biggest david boreanaz fan lol :)

    • tvnut

Exactly! I used to be a HUGE fan… but with the dragging out the whole will they or won’t they thing… it’s just been going on waay too long. PLUS, whoever keeps bringing up the idea of a crossover should be shot. It just proves that they don’t have confidence in their writers to come up with their own unique ideas. Take your ideas from reality bro, not reality TV.
Or take a note from the X Files, they somehow managed to keep the sexual tension under control for nine whole freaking seasons. NINE! With a COPS style episode. THAT was the extent of their ‘crossovers’.
Seriously Hart. Smarten up, otherwise you’ll be losing fans. And fast.

      • Viv

I agree completely. I watched last season, and more or less every episode towards the end made me cringe because it seemed so strange and forced with the way they dragged out the romance.

CSI:NY Already did a episode like this last year..Season 6, Episode 5: “Battle Scars”

  • TeaTotaller

I truly hope that this idea came from the BONES team, and they have a good idea for this episode. But I fear it’s the opposite — the network wants to pimp reality shows, and “asks” shows to do “crossover” episodes to get more attention to the not so popular shows, to get more people watching, cause TV is all about the numbers. I understand that lots of people watch reality, but many still don’t, and it starts to feel like there’s nothing else on TV (soon) than reality. So sad.
They better get big bucks for doing this, and use it wisely — maybe another London (or some other location) episode.
This so sounds like a desperate attempt to save a sinking ship. Is the BONES ship sinking? That’s sad, cause it had so much potential, but I guess either no show can survive over 5 seasons, or toying with the will they/won’t they for too long.
I don’t get why hype this? What’s the difference if the victim is played by a rising star, a dancer, or a wellknown actor? Guess for some it matters.

Yeah, all this sounds like cross-promotion/stunt casting BS to me.

      • Stormy

Just like they had Ace Young [American Idol] get killed in a past ep. Isn’t that a sign that a show is tanking, when they start having guest “stars”?

  • Leftfield

I was disappointed last year to see them plug Avatar, and then disappointed again when they promoted Toyota. Are they a show or a billboard. After last season, I really need a reason to continue to tune in, and I’m not getting it.

    • Michelle

I think Hart Hanson said on Twitter that they do that so they’ll get money to put towards guest actors and sets and the like. Not that I enjoy it or condone it, either, but that was his reasoning.

Twitch rocks, though. I bet he’s a decent actor.

  • Scobes

Bones, SYTYCD, Twitch. What’s not to like?

    • Lemon

      My thoughts exactly.

  • rita

Come on people ! don’t you watch a show and enjoy it as JUST a TV show anymore ? I looooove bones, and sometimes I watch SYTYCD. It’s all good !

  • carl

fans quit being so negative/bones is a good tv show.

    • Jeanette

It is! I don’t get why people get pissed off. Yes, I hate that they drag out the romance between B&B but the show is good. I’m not giving up on it quite yet.

  • Cindy

I’ve only seen a handful of episodes but will make a point to watch this one. Love tWitch!

  • Barbara

LOVE BONES! LOVE the NEW SYTYCD format. I fell for Twitch this season, so can’t wait for this episode.

  • Alia

tWitch! LOVE him! I’ve pretty much given up on Bones, but I’ll watch this episode.

  • Shannon

Let’s not forget that Season 3 Ep. 14 Wannabe in the Weeds featured American Idol runner ups Ace Young and Brendan Rogers!
