'Smallville' Exclusive: Aquaman resurfaces!

alan-ritchson-aquamanImage Credit: Michael Courtney/The CWSmallville is turning up the, ahem, AC in its final season. (Look, it was either that or some cheese-saturated H20 pun. Count your blessings.)

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Alan Ritchson has signed on to reprise his role as Arthur “AC” Curry (a.k.a. Aquaman) during November sweeps.

AC was last seen in season 8, when his secret identity was discovered by LuthorCorp. I’m told the Justice Leaguer will resurface in this season’s ninth episode.

Ritchson joins a growing list of Smallville alums returning to the show in its final season. That list includes John Glover (Lionel), John Schneider (Pa Kent), Laura Vandervoort (Kara/Supergirl), James Marsters (Brainiac), and Michael Shanks (Hawkman).

    YEYYYY, I love AC :)
I really hope the last season is gonna be legendary and not too crowded with all the characters coming back :D
I still hope we will see Lex back too.

    • darlene H

I think that will be great, it should be more exciting smallville has been awsome already and now this will just top it off!

  • Jake

Awesome news. Smallville’s gonna kickass this year.

    • j

the only way it will kickass is if the writers arent stupid and stop smallville and actually keep going like it should be theres alot left to do and i dont think they can fit it all into roughly 24 episodes is what a season typically has

  • Nathan

Cool news. Aqua was a cool episode, Clark, Lois and AC for the win haha. I’m sure AC is coming back in a minor role no biggie, I’m cool with this!

  • Dee

Cool. Ausiello any chance you can get us an exclusive Smallville Season 10 promo. Please please please.

  • jess

    awesome!!

    • darclyte

Even better is that James Marsters is playing Brainiac 5 from the future and the Legion of Superheroes, and not the evil Brainiac of the present.

      • Ryan

Yea I can’t wait to see Marsters back as Brainiac 5 gonna be wicked.

  • Mike

    AWESOME!
I really hope we get to see Impulse in season 10.

    • jake

yessssssssssssssss i completely agree with you!

  • TivaLove

So does Lois get to see AC again…Hmmm.

  • sweetiepie1019

Absolutely can’t wait for all three of Lois’s super exes to be in a room at the same time. I really want a scene with her all three guys. Awkward fun for all!
Now if only they could bring Lana back for some closure.

    • sunset

Hopefully by this episode, Clark knows that Lois knows so that we can see this happen (with the guys in their super persona).

      • jinx

With typical Lois snark: ‘God, not you too. What am I, a superheroe magnet?!’

    • Beeswax

My idea for episode 10 titled ‘Fast Recovery’. Where Lois breaks up with Clark and starts dating Impulse. That way she can say she dated the whole set. Sorry Cyborg, I don’t think shes interested.

    • tiffaroolou

      B-b-b-bring back Lana?
      Again?
      Please be joking.

      Please.

Been there, done that. When Clark took the pic of Lana out of his wallet, put it in the photo album, and closed it, he was literally closing the book on that chapter of his life. That’s about the best closure anyone could ask for. Ever.

If TPTB are listening, I’m begging here: no more Lana. It’s so over.

  • silverrose

the new season sounds great, but is still missing one thing,,,,,,Batman.

    • MaryJane

I agree with silverrose, Batman would be a truly awesome character to have on the show, at least once. We were promised a visit by him some years ago, but I think it got nixed when they started re-making the Batman movies. Come on, Smallville, give Superman…er Clark, a big sendoff by introducing him to his future friend.

      • K

actually WB won’t give permission to bring him on, same for Wonder Woman.

      • Ryan

As much as I would kill to see the Bruce and CK bromance it aint gonna happen because of the restrictions as K pointed out.

  • lory

    AWESOME NEWS !!! Thanks ausiello
can’t wait for season 10 this show rocks !!

  • mohammed mahmoud

Infact Lex has been away for far too long. Only Lex can best play his part and i wish to see much of him in the ensuing episodes.

  • Dominique

I love that Smallville is recruiting so many castmembers, it’s awesome!

Now here’s my request for the SV Crew; PLEASE add Impulse to the list as well. He’s awesome, and Kyle needs to come back to Smallville asap, especially now that we’re going into the final season.

  • Nathan

Hell yaaa the Justice League members are coming back. Hopefully Clark still is in the forefront dont want these guest stars taking away from Clark’s story but I’m one happy fanboy that’s for sure. Glad to see AC back.

  • Monica

    I LOVE AC! :D

  • Heather

Woo hoo! I was really hoping that he’d show up. This season is going to be awesome!
