Image Credit: Albert L Ortega/PR Photos; Paul Drinkwater/NBCChuck‘s latest casting coup is a dream come true: The NBC spyomedy has tapped the original Freddy Krueger—a.k.a. Robert Englund—to guest-star in next month’s Halloween episode, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Englund will play Dr. Stanley Wheelwright, an evil scientist who can make your waking life a nightmare. He’ll appear in this season’s sixth episode, titled “Chuck Versus Aisle of Terror.”
To recap, Chuck’s other notable season 4 hires include Linda Hamilton, Timothy Dalton, Eric Roberts, Lou Ferrigno, Olivia Munn, Nicole Richie, Old Spice Guy, and Dolph Lundgren.
Chuck‘s new season kicks off in 12 days, 7 hours, and 49 minutes on Monday, Sept. 20.

That is frakkin’ AWESOME! Yay, finally another Halloween episode!

They have new webisodes of Jeffster! over the web, following them as they are on the run for thinking they blew up the Buy More. That is much better than counting down the days!
So did not know that. Thanks for the heads up.
I NEED to watch new Chuck episodes soon or I will lose my miiiiiiiind!!
This is going to be such a great season. Think we’ll get more viewers?
I hope so!!!
Normally I kinda hate stunt-casting, but I have to say that Chuck is elevating it to an art form. Just such a great awareness of pop/geek culture and what its fans really want to see.
I think they’ve been stunt casting for so long that it doesn’t feel like stunt casting anymore.
Agreed. I feel like it works with Chuck because it is so self-aware. It understands its audience and the show isn’t afraid to bring in exciting “geeky” culture actors and make fun roles for them. It doesn’t feel like, “let’s bring in this guy and force a role in there,” but “we have a role, let’s fill it with someone great”
This is now the guest star I’m looking forward to the most!
Wow, AWESOME! I can’t wait til Chuck Season 4! Woohooo!
This sounds like terrific fun! Now, if only we can get more people to join us in watching “Chuck.” It’s been so much fun!
Nice pull, Chuck! Great guest cast this year. Now if only we could get some scoop that isn’t stunt casting related … hint. Hint.
How about Chuck will be back on the 20th?
j/k
Excellent news!
“Spyomedy”!? Really!? You couldn’t come up with a better term than that? I think that if you’re going to coin a term, wouldn’t “spycom” be better?
I think the humor was in the awkwardness…
Spyomedy…it fits with the tongue and cheekiness of Chuck.
It would be totally awesome if one of the nightmare situations was him dressed up as Freddy Krueger.
How is this show not infinitely more popular than it is??? It’s literally one of the most entertaining shows on tv in a long time, and it has something to appeal across all demographics. SO PSYCHED for the Halloween ep now!
I absolutely agree. How is chuck not more popular. It’s the most AWESOME show on.
I love Chuck but preferred it when he couldn’t do martial arts stuff from flashing.
Have you not watched much since the beginning of Season 3? He didn’t suddenly turn into a superhuman freak that can’t be stopped, he’s still Chuck, just more confident overall in what’s he’s capable of.
so excited for chuck to return! chuck season 4 sounds amazing from all the news we have heard!
