Hope you enjoyed the fourth-season finale of My Boys, because it turns out that was the last episode you’re ever gonna get: According to my sources, TBS has broken up with the rom-com.
For series lead Jordana Spiro, this could be good news. You’ll recall that she was forced to give up a role on NBC’s upcoming Love Bites because of Boys’ uncertain future. Now, theoretically, she could reclaim that lost part. I’ll keep you posted.
Meanwhile, feel free to memorialize the show with prose, haiku, and just, you know, comments below.

Kim will be disappointed…
My first thought exactly.
Haha, 2.
OMG, that was my first thought when I saw this…
sorry kim….
DAMN IT! WTF? I AM GOING TO CUT A BITCH! AUSIELLO MARK MY WORDS I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND CUT YOU!
SUCKED.
Was pretty good and under-appreciated.
My thoughts exactly!
haha that just made my day. still, bummer about the show.
Good!
dammit we were all thinking the same thing…also this season has kinda toaded the wet sprocket so I’m okay with it leaving..
Never heard of this show! It was on 4 seasons?? LOL
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
What you said!
Kim?
lol it’s an inside joke among well…everyone, who read a post a few months ago. Basically a girl named Kim though she was the only one who liked “My Boys” & Ausiello would continuously teas her about that.
it’s actually funnier than it sounds LOL
Yay! (I don’t really care, I came from the post about Conan that is more interesting)
No kidding!
I like Jordana Spiro (remember her in a Buffy ep?)
This show just never grabbed me. She’ll do ok…maybe not as a lead, but part of an ensemble.
Holy crap – I never realized she was in a Buffy until I IMDB’d her. I remember “Callie” now! I think she’s cuter as a brunette.
She was on Buffy?? WTF? Gonna have to look it up, tanx for the tip.
Oh, bummer!
Sad. I really enjoyed this show.
Way to go TBS- hide a great show and then cancel it.
But, on the other hand, I heard you renewed some crappy show for 90 shows!
Well played.
There was a new season?
exactly. how do they expect this show to get good ratings when there was zero promotion and they hid it on sunday nights opposite true blood and madmen?
I liked the show so much season 1 and 2 and then these past two seasons I’ve always chosen another show over it. Sorry for the cast, it’s such a funny, smart, unusual program.
I really liked the show and characters, but it’s such a low-key show that I never sought it out. And you had to b/c there was no promotion.
Such a pity!!! I love the show
Just discovered this show and it was a pleasant surprise-boo
Whoops meant this
Kim, honey, this was Big Brother 12 this summer. 12 seasons and none as good as the original concept in season 1.
Same for me. Why do they never allow shows time to build their audience? Look at Big Brother this summer, they grew their audience 6% in their 10th season.
I’m heartbroken. Such a great show…
I really liked the show.. Sad ..I miss my friends..
so sad… Really, how is it that Mike is the only one married?? What about PJ & Bobby??? even Stephanie and Kenny?
This is so depressing, TBS never gave it a fair shot. Such a great show, quality writing and acting. It’s really too bad, I’m quite sad.
Never gave it a fair shot? Are you kidding? It was on the air for four years! Now, Moonlight, Invasion, Freaks and Geeks, My So-Called Life, Firefly, etc…those were shows that didn’t get a “fair shot.” Though I sympathize with the fans who won’t get a proper finale–that does stink.
Yeah, but when you look at the total episode count, it was basically 2 network shows’ seasons. And for a half hour show compared to those hour long shows, they probably actually got the same amount of air time spread out over 4 years…
I didn’t really watch this show…but I agree with Sarah. No promos (until about, a month ago), no reruns during the week. I never knew when it was on and if I missed it, I couldn’t catch it at any other time. They never gave it a chance. For whatever reason.
And it would go away for months and months at a time! I hate how cable shows only do like 10 episodes and it takes 2 and a half years just to get through the equivalent of one season!!
I’m actually really happy with this. The show was great but the finale worked perfectly as a series finale.
i’m sad!
You just broke my heart a little bit.
It kind of felt like a series finale, so I’m not entirely surprised. But…I will miss the cast as an ensemble – they had great chemistry.
This was a great little comedy. Thankfully, the finale “My Men” pretty much was a series finale. They had to know deep down. I am just frustrated that TBS wouldn’t let Jordana Spiro and Kyle Howard out of their contracts early to do their respective NBC series. Just seems mean and petty.
I was thinking the same thing.
Yeah-that was SUPER CRAPPY! If you are going to cancel the show-let the actors go make a living elsewhere.
