Scoop: 'Private Practice' pages Cristián de la Fuente

cristian-de-la-fuenteImage Credit: Alexander Tamargo/Getty ImagesPrivate Practice has found just the man-candy to fill the void left by the dearly departed Dell: Cristián de la Fuente.

The In Plain Sight hunk has been tapped to play the potentially recurring role of Eric Rodriguez, a self-possessed, confident, wickedly funny and—just guessing here—fairly attractive new doctor.

De la Fuente—who earned a bronze medal in the sixth season of Dancing With the Stars—will make his first appearance in late October/early November.

There’s no word on whose heart McCaliente will send racing, but the initial character breakdown may contain a clue: Private producers noted that prospective candidates must be 5’11″. In possibly related news, Kate Walsh is the show’s tallest female cast member at 5’9″.

Now is the time on Sprockets when we go, “Hmmm…”

Shocking, considering the cast has been tweeting about him for a while.

  • Claire

Addie is supposedly happy with Sam this season but I wouldn’t say No to a proper love triangle given this eye candy!!!

  • Tati

Sorry, but I don’t think he can fill Dell’s shoes.

    • Rosa

That dude is ugly! I don’t in any way say how he is attractive. Dell was adorable, and a sweetheart.

      • tibby

Are you kidding me? He is definately better looking with short hair, but even with long hair, he is far from ugly….

      • Rosa

I don’t know who he is. But I covered up his hair in the picture and it was an improvement. Still can’t replace Dell though.

  • Javi

    Good for him.
I don’t know what you see in this guy. As Chilean myself, I’ve never liked him… but if you find him attractive, good for you.

    • Loreto

Are you serious? I am Chilean too and i love him!! He is just gorgeous ^^
I think i will watch Private Practice just for him.

  • Jamie

Audra is tall. I say Naomi.

  • Anna

A love triangle between Addison/Sam/this new dude would be a HOT FEST. #justsaying

  • Sara

I hope he is not there for Addison because really? can she NOT be a cheater for one season or is that not possible?

  • Ella

Please tell me Addie is gonna dump Sam and get together with this hottie! She and Sam have no chemistry AT ALL.

    • spikenalabama

      Agree TOTALLY!!!

    • Ilaria M

I agree with you… Please don’t let me see Addisam :S

  • CeeCee

Loved him as Raf, can’t wait to see how they make things work with him and the PP group.

  • BEe

i think/hope he’s not here for kate. sam and addison got together finally at the end of season 3 and kate and taye have been saying all over how it’s now about them trying to have a relationship. maybe naomi.

    • lorna

eww i hate addy and sam together

      • spikenalabama

        Ditto!!

  • Frankie

Anyone but Addie… Naomi would actually be really good with this guy

  • Lucy

Kate, Taye and Shonda have all said they are going to explore Addison and Sam’s relationship this season and I’m excited to see it.

Unless this new Doctor is some plot device to show Addison and Sam are meant to be, then I don’t think he’s there for Addison.

  • juan manuel

Cristiàn as really hot male latino a number one now in la serie Private Practice amazinz more for him hot doc “ERIC” THE BES EN ALL im HAPPY FOR HIM dont CANT WAIT i neet MY DOC erIC CRISTIÀN LOVE

  • Jen

I’m betting on Naomi. We already know Addison & Sam are a couple this season, the PrP promo has been promoting them as such.

  • Kim

HAHAHAHAHA hilarious thanks for posting that!!!
