Image Credit: Mario Perez/ABCNo surprise here: A well-placed source tells me that three different networks are gunning for a potential new J.J. Abrams-produced series that would find former Lost stars Terry O’Quinn and Michael Emerson playing a pair of black ops agents.
As first reported by NYMag.com, the project—tentatively titled Odd Jobs—is being written by Abrams’ former Alias cohorts Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec.
Rumors of an O’Quinn/Emerson series have been kicking around for months. At the Emmys, O’Quinn played coy when asked about a Ben/Locke show. “I’ve got some plans, [and] I hope it includes Michael Emerson,” he teased.
Over and above this show, it’s shaping up to be a busy development season for Bad Robot boss Abrams. He also has an Alcatraz-set drama set up at Fox and a crime-thriller penned by Jonah Nolan, brother and frequent collaborator of The Dark Knight/Inception auteur Christopher Nolan, in the works at CBS.

I’m already looking forward to it. I hope the writing is good, because we already know the acting abilities are excellent.
They should join Josh Holloway and it will be a sure fire can’t miss show
Good idea. Also have Miles in there since they were cops in the Sideways world.
Anything with Josh Holloway, please. I miss him in my home every week.
Terry & Michael….can’t wait to watch.
I’m glad Abrams is doing so well. I think he creates some pretty great stuff (though I have to admit I was never a Lost fan.) I’m afraid that all this may spread him a little thin, though. How can you be your best at anything when you have so much on your plate. Hope he can live up to his own legacy.
I doubt he’ll have any day-to-day involvement on any of these three projects. He’s a name, and Bad Robot is his company, so I suspect he’s using that to help get this idea off the ground. Do you really think if O’Quinn and Emerson had pitched it that they’d have three networks vying for it? Abrams knows he has clout, and I suspect he knows the best thing to do in order to get a seemingly great project like this off the ground is to do it himself. Good for him. I like to know he’s still in the trenches, pitching to execs, and not delegating. A true mensch.
I agree – it’s terrific that he’d put his name to this project together. A real gift to his fan base – he knows we want more Emerson/O’Quinn.
I’m not worried. Part of Abrams’ talent is delegating these shows to incredibly passionate showrunners while he’s producing other projects. His involvement with both Lost and Fringe has been pretty hands-off.
I think he can pull it off. Joss Whedon was the same way.
This is just ridiculous. I love me some Michael Emerson, but I think I’ve looked at Terry O’Quinn just about enough for a lifetime. No. Thank. You. Want to do a Lost spinoff/reboot? FORD & STRAUM!
OMG, why not both?!?!?! I myself LOVED Locke and Ben together, and I also loved Sawyer and Miles!! Now, I just need some way for Jorge Garcia to come back into my TV life (maybe in the Ford & Straum show!) and I will be happy.
What Katja said!
Yes Katja! Yes!
Jorge Garcia.. Seriously? I’d say Holloway & Emerson, the only good things that came out of Lost.
CindyC…you are a sad, sad little girl. Both of these amazing actors are Emmy award winning A list thespians. Thank heavens that idiots like you are not in charge in green-lighting projects in television that the rest of the country would truly enjoy and appreciate. Go back to reading Nancy Drew, please.
And you soil your pants on a regular basis. We don’t judge you. Well, not publicly. Secretly, we judge.
You’ve looked at Locke enough. O’Quinn is one of those actors who becomes a completely different person between roles.
I’d definitely watch ANYTHING with Josh Holloway!
I second that! I definitely need more Josh Holloway on my tv. And some Jorge Garcia would be nice too.
I’d watch anything with Terry O’Quinn. Though Sawyer was my favorite character, Terry O’Quinn is just fantastic.
Judging by all of JJ Abram’s planned series for next year, I’d say next season is looking better than the one that kicks off tonight.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alias Meets Grumpy Old Men? I smell a hit.
hilarious
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!
All of this O’Quinn & Emerson talk is making my day!
I can’t wait!!! The best show ever was LOST and John Locke was my favorite character from day 1. It only got better when Henry/Ben came on!!!
I would so watch this
Ha, I remember when Terry O’Quinn was chattering about this months and months ago. So glad it’s going forward, I would definitely watch!
Ford and Straum would be just perfect… But I love Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn – and, of course, JJ Abrams.
They should be lovers.
Hells to the yes.
please dont make this AfterL*O*S*T!!!
I look forward to being captivated throughout the series only to be let down in the end. Cheers
Purgatory.
Not Purgatory.
A place to find the ones that meant the most to you to remember and let go before moving on.
THAT IS NOT PURGATORY!
my thoughts exactly! anything produced by Abrams or written by Darlton, I’ll stay far, far away!
your loss
