Scoop: Ex-Hero Jack Coleman takes 'Office' job

jack-colemanImage Credit: Albert L. Ortega/PR PhotosThe buzz around the Dunder Mifflin watercooler is that Heroes vet Jack Coleman is nearing a deal to guest-star in an upcoming episode of The Office.

The Dynasty alum would play a government official who possesses a “Jon Hamm-esque wholesomeness,” per a source. No other details were available.

Coleman recently shot an episode of The Mentalist to air Oct. 14. He’ll play a man accused of murdering his wife’s killer.

I’m thrilled that EW started including photos with the articles, but WHOA, that’s a terrible picture of him!

    • Dwight K Schrute

Who the hell thinks Jon Hamm is wholesome???

      • Ally

Jon Hamm seems pretty wholesome. I’m pretty sure you are confusing him with Don Draper…unless the article writer is confusing them too.

      • Sawyer

What confuses me is, if they’re looking for a Jon Hamm wholesomeness, why not get, oh I don’t know, Jon Hamm?

    • lorna

I miss HRG!! Still have to watch the last 3 Heroes eps. s5 sounded like it would’ve been awesome.

  • sam

HAHA!! Is he going to be a paper salesman??

    • AliK

I was thinking the same thing!

    • Cris

A paper salesman WITH A SECRET!!

      • Mary

        And horn-rimmed glasses!

    • MICHELLE

    • huzzah

sam, I laughed so hard when I read your comment!

  • Paige

Oh my gosh that’s PERFECT! He just doesn’t look right without his horn rimmed glasses, but at least he is staying in the paper business.

    I miss Heroes.

    • Josh

Or, he’ll play a government official, like the article states.

      • Paige

He’s still staying working with the paper business though, indirectly. It’s close enough for me. :)

  • orville

Awesome! Can you imagine HRG and Dwight in a creep-off? Either that or as besties. I hope they do get in a “former paper salesman” joke.

  • ilaam

Jack Coleman rules. Miss those ‘HRGs’. I know my tweep dref22 would say the same thing.

    • dref22

Hehehe, yes, I am saying the same thing. :D

  • tomm

He looks good for his age, he can’t look like he did in the 80′s.

    • dref22

And his fans prefer the way he looks now. Yummy.

  • aeryn

loved him on heroes, “claire bear”..and so glad he’s making an appearance in one of my favorite shows.
cant wait to see him in a leading role!

    • dref22

      Same!!!

    • lorna

i know hrg and claire scenes were the ones that made me cry.

  • Stevie

I’m so excited that he will be guest starring on The Office! He was so great in heroes and is overall a fantastic actor.

  • Darkeyes

    Great!

  • JBSmoove

Sooo… when will Tim Allen be announced he’s going to replace Steve Carell?

    • hats8

oh, I would not like that!

I think HRG is a perfect fit for the office

  • MIffy

Have Emma Samms play Michael’s new love interest!

  • tracy bluth

He was the only reason I kept watching Heroes (although Juliet’s ex-husband made season 3 somewhat more enjoyable). He’s very underrated!!!

    • Jason

I agree he was THE BEST character on Heroes and he didn’t even have super powers ! Go figure.

  • Shane

HRG! May have to watch this episode…

  • Sandra

That´s great news! Best paper salesmen in the world together!

  • Suzanne

Can’t wait! Have missed Jack Coleman.
