Breaking: Fox orders full season of 'Raising Hope'

Sources confirm that Fox has given its critically acclaimed rookie comedy Raising Hope a back-nine order, bringing its total to 22 episodes. According to Fox, Hope ranks as the No. 1 new comedy among teens and young women, and the No. 2 new comedy among adults 18-34. (Having Glee as your lead-in has its advantages.) This is the first freshman show to receive a full-season pickup.

Hey, I just thought of the perfect way to mark this joyous occasion: I could offer up four exclusive first looks at the Chance family’s never-before-seen photo album (to be unveiled in next week’s episode) after the jump!

    Awesome! This show is hilarious!!

    • Larry David

‘Running Wilde’ is a huge fail and is likely to get cancelled. This should be a sign NOT to make an ‘Arrested Development’ movie.

      • Flip

Running Wilde is an awesome show, and last night’s episode was the funniest yet.
Also, an AD movie NEEDS to happen. The fact that you said that shows you’re an AD hater who should just stfu.

I cannot even imagine how much it must suck to be you Larry David.

agel’essm’atch,c o’m a nice place for seeking interr acial love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive sin gles and treat you like a king or Queen. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends..vsv

Flip, really, you live up to your name. There are lots of AD devotees (such as Alan Sepinwall) who think Running Wilde is poor and a sign that the AD movie (that Michael Cera doesn’t want to make anyhow) would be a bad sign. Me, too. Running Wilde is barely ok, and the fact that it has much of the same talent implies that perhaps AD was lightning in a bottle. A bottle we perhaps don’t want to smash to smithereens.

Would you just stop. As the world biggest Seinfeld and Curb fan, it is irritating the hell out of me that you are disgracing LD’s name. Please find a new moniker you imbecile!

  • DB

  • Beverly

Yay!! This show is fresh and hilarious!! Love me sum Dillahunt!!

  • Lisa

yay, this show is hilarious. trying to get Hope out with the vacuum had to be the funniest part of last nights episode.

  • The First Real Jersey Jeff

    Why?

    • Flip

Exactly. This show is offensive and stupid. I guess it’s meant to appeal to hillbillies?

      • Meli

Well gee, just because YOU lack the mental capacity to understand the show doesn’t mean you have to go around and call names like ‘hillbilly’, huh?

      • Tina

Flip, really, you are offensive. Not sure where the hate is coming from.

Just stop watching, and put us out of your misery.

      • Isembard

Actually, moron, the term “hillbillie” is extremely offensive, akin to any number of racial slurs which I’m sure you regularly employ.

      • LB

@flip: I wonder whether the irony of stating the show is offensive followed by an offensive statement about “hillbillies” was apparent to you or not.

      • Lyn

It definitely has more of a blue-collar sensibility than, say, the upper-class cartoonishness of “Modern Family.” Don’t mean to badmouth the latter show, but I found this one more touching and enjoyable.

  • Mole

Finally, one of my wait-and-sees actually panned out! Off to Hulu I go!

    • mary q contrary

Haha, I guess I need to catch up, too. It’s my kids’ new favorite show, and I guess I need to sit down and watch the next episode with them. They’re watching Modern Family right now. Huh. I’m starting to realize my kids have better taste than I though.

    • Zombie Jesus

      Ditto

  • Steph

Ha! Yeaaah! I adore this show, it’s so different and I honestly thought it was too different- to the point where they’d cancel it. I suppose they partly have Glee to thank, as it’s a good lead-in for ratings.
Oh a totally random note: I want Jimmy (I admit, had to look up his name) to end up with rotten-tooth girl!

    • Tina

No, not the dead tooth girl! But I would like to see her in a few more episodes.

It’s hard to see him hooking up with Shannon, given that she’s so much smarter than he, but he is sweet and earnest and he at least tries. The bit with the thesaurus was cute.

      • sherimoonzombie

        You mean “The Saurus”.

    • sherimoonzombie

I love dead tooth girl (Kate Micucci). She’s a hoot. I wish she’d come back as a regular.

      • Ames

“So, what’s with the dead chomper?”
        “It’s a conversation starter.”

  • Princess Beyonce

Best new show of the season (and yes, I’ve seen Lone Star and others). Congrats!

  • Michael

    Awesome! I love this show!

  • Dean

This is the only new show I’ve permanently added to my TV viewing this season.

    • Chris

Same here. Best new show of the season.

      • elena

        All the way!
It’s the show to watch this season. Humor + Heart + Plimpton = Awesomesauce. Everyone should watch!

      • Che

Agree! This is for me the best new comedy this year!

    • Ames

It’s the only new show I’ve been actively trying to get others to see.

  • ~~ July ~~

LOVE this crazy show!!! Very funny.

  • Anthony

    Good news everyone!

  • JamiesFanGirl

I love this show…it’s hilarious! SOO glad it got picked up! Martha FTW is right!

  • kathy

LOVE the show & I’m outside the demo they seem to want. Now if they had only taken on Earl and put them back-to-back!

    • Emily S

I would settle for the show being set in Camden and Earl characters showing up from time to time. Although that one guy from Earl- can’t remember his name – plays the grocery store manager.

  • Margaret

Dillahunt and Plimpton are comedy gold.

    • FrenchGuy

I just watched a little of this show and this show is awesome! Hilarious!
      So that’s good news.
