Image Credit: Valerie Macon/Getty Images; Sonja Flemming/CBSAre we about to meet one of Hetty’s legendary sexual conquests?
Sources confirm to me exclusively that NCIS: LA has tapped Raymond J. Barry — whose long list of credits includes playing Jack’s grandfather Ray Shephard on Lost — to play a former secret agent who shares a past with Linda Hunt’s onetime minx.
According to the original casting call, Barry’s character, Branston Cole, appears “frail and blind from a stroke he suffered a while back, but he remains vigorous and sarcastic as he lives out the remainder of his days in a retirement home. A man with a long history and a deep well of secrets, he seems to still enjoy the game of espionage and manipulation, leading his handlers down questionable paths.”
Barry first shows up during November sweeps.

Arlo Givens, my man!
Exclusive: Ausiello sucks!
Arlo Givens, AMEN! This lack of respect for the show “Justified” by people supposedly in the know demonstrates why the show got shut out in the Emmy’s…
I can’t believe they skipped his Justified role either. He was Jack’s grandpa on LOST for what 1/2 an hour… He is a real catalyst for Raylan on Justified.
He was on one episode. I don’t think that is what he known for at all.
Agreed K. He is Arlo Givens.
Way to go Hetty!
Some of us know Raymond Barry from his recurring gig as Lilly’s dad on Cold Case.
Yeah he’s Arlo Givens from Justified
He and Matthew Fox actually have a nice resemblance.
Wrong kid died!!!
Arlo from Justified to me. He was only in LOST for one episode…wish it had been more though.
It’s kinda cool that he’s on NCIS LA, and he was just in Charlie Valentine with Michael Weatherly…not the same show, but still kinda cool.
the wrong kid died!
I don’t even remember him from Lost. I recognized him as Arlo Givens.
I don’t even remember him…
He is also the son of the little old lady who had the hat in the wedding audience in “Arthur” and was just browsing in the department store in “Easy Money.”
I forgot to add: I wonder what LL Cool J thinks about all the special guests they keep having and all the cast changes, without doing anything at all with his character. Far as I can tell, they don’t seem to realize he’s even there. If I were LLCJ, I’d be getting pretty mad.
The promo for the next ep shows that we find out more about Sam’s background and I’m hoping for more before sweeps or even during sweeps.
Please have him hold a machete in hand…
