Scoop: 'Smallville' duo eyes CBS reunion drama

Tags: , News, Scoop

Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders will be tackling a real-life superhero with their next TV project. Sources confirm that the longtime Smallville showrunners are teaming with uberproducer McG on The Last Hope, a potential new CBS drama loosely based on professional finder-of-lost-loves (and star of WE tv’s reality series The Locator) Troy Dunn. The project, from Warner Bros. Television, is being eyed for next fall. Peterson and Souders are currently hard at work on the 10th and final season of Smallville.

    Cool.

Got anything else Smallville related. Really could give a crap about something that might not even make it on air. Nexxxxxxt… plus what a misleading title to generate site hits.

    • wes

but hey at least their show wont be on the crap network CW. cw blows.

    • Brian

How is this a misleading title? It’s a drama show about reuniting people.

    • MaryJane

I agree that CW is a crappy network, but then again, if Smallville had been on CBS, it would have been cancelled in its first season since they demand instant super ratings for shows to stay on that network. As it is, CW is lucky to have SV, and frankly will probably really be crappy once SV and Supernatural are no longer on its network.

At least they dont run as many loser reality shows. Man i hate watching ordinary people doing dull boring crap really bad. How can anyone watch stupid people dance, lose weight, try to sing, or especially empty headed models. Whats the purpose?

      • Jen E.

Amen to that Tony. I take umbrage with a statement that the CW is a “crappy” network. Though it has a smaller audience (but the age group is an advertiser’s dream), it takes a chance on many quality shows that the big 4 would snub for B-listers dancing, tone deaf singing and staged catfights.

    YES!!!!!!! GO SMALLVILLE. :P

  • Joel

“Longtime Smalllville showrunners”? Um, no, longtime executive producers, yes, but this is only the second season for them as showrunners. Please fix it Michael.

I hope developing this new show takes up all their time. The less time those two have to focus on Smallville, the better. Their ideas always suck, and they never learn from their mistakes. Bring back Al & Miles. At least they only cut down Clark in regards to Lana. They let him shine everywhere else.

  • big picture

I really think the only talent Brian and Kelly have is to brown nose and fail upward. Their story arc ideas are asinine.

Wasn’t there a FINDER OF LOST LOVES series on ABC in the 1980s? Lasted one season… Tony Franciosa, Deborah Adair?

  • Dee

Given the how SV has been destroyed and the ratings the show has been getting since these two take over, I think CBS and McG should be slightly more cautious in bringing these two on.

  • PLEASE!!!

i wouldn’t watch anything these guys are involved in if they paid me..

    • Tony

Duh, like you must have, or you wouldn’t know that you don’t like them.

  • Juke Early

Oh @#%&*! this means the “Troy Dunn” character won’t wear his iconic suit & fly until the last ep of season 10. . ..

  • K. Murphy

Smallville is the worst live action version of a Superman I have ever seen, completly mangled and butchered all the great things in the Superman Mythos, and now they are saying the character might FINALLY put on the suit and fly, something that he should have done 5 seasons ago when people still gave a crap. But even now they are **** teasing the fan base with that. Never understood how it still has fans, but i doubt they are Superman fans, but the Roswell fans who latched on when the show was a clone of that TV mess.

  • Ana

If you don’t like Smallville, why even come here and say you hate it? That is absolutely nonsense! Unless you give a crap about it, shut it!
And instead of going no a ramble in how it’s the WORST show ever and that it ruined Superman mythos, say instead that you THINKk that way, because most certainly a lot of people don’t agree with you. I certainly don’t. I think Smallville is the best show ever, for example.
Go find something else to bash would ya?

    • JimC

@Ana…Thank you. I agree, I have no idea why these boneheads come here to cry about how bad Smallville is. If you dont like it, dont watch it. No one cares what you think. A lot of people like it…apparently enough to keep it on the air for 10 years.

WHOA. This is going to so totally rock. I mean, McG is awesome all by himself, and I’m in freaking love with Peterson/Souders. Not only are almost all of the episodes they’ve written some of my favorites, but they made Smallville my favorite show ever.
There is no way I’m missing this show now.

  • Oa

Smallville sucks. Lois & Clark was far better.

    • be

      Lois and Clark sucks horibly
