'30 Rock' Scoop: Matt Damon joins live episode!

Tags: , , News, Scoop

30-rock-damon-feyImage Credit: Ali Goldstein/NBC30 Rock‘s live episode is turning into quite the A-List affair. Sources confirm that Matt Damon is set to reprise his role as Tina Fey’s emotionally raw pilot beau in this Thursday’s live outing.

An NBC spokesperson declined to comment.

Damon joins a guest roster that also includes Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm and 30 Rock‘s Cheyenne Jackson.

Details of the episode’s plot are being kept under wraps, but I’m told it will revolve around a taping of TGS.

Thought this was a given after the ‘I’ll see you October 14th’ comment a few weeks ago.

Ausiello is still here?? Just leave already man, no one wants you!

    • Yes

Yes, you are right it was given away. I guess we could have had the exclusive!

    • allie

      That’s what I thought too….

    • LOL

I think we all thought that, didn’t we?

    • Tee

Hey I had forgotten about that, so the reminder was nice. Matt Damon has been fun to watch.

    • Bob

Agreed, there is no scoop here, they told everyone!

  • Sue

30 Rock’s Cheyenne Jackson will be on 30 Rock? Amazing! :) Also, I think this was already decided – in Damon’s last episode, Liz yelled out, “See you October 14th!” when he left. Very excited nonetheless.

    • Al

Cheyenne Jackson hasn’t been on the show all year and hasn’t been mentioned, so it is news that he is on. He will have a recurring role on Glee this year.

    • BL

This is so incredible! Can’t wait to see Matt, John and Cheyenne, my three favorite visiting actors on 30 Rock.

  • paul

This is old news Mike, you are slipping. I remember hearing this awhile ago(maybe from you), and it was in the season premier.

    • Bree

      Short-timer syndrome claims another victim.

  • Iron

Great news. I love that Liz finally got her astronaut Mike Dexter.

  • Jim bob

No way! 30 Rock’s Cheyenne Jackson is going to guest star on 30 Rock?! What?!

    • LOL

      Exactly! LOL

  • CP

When he was on last, Liz Lemon said, “See you on Oct. 14th!” when he left so… not too surprising.

  • MIke W

Glad to hear that Mad Men’s Jon Hamm is going to be on. I thought it was pretty cool last night when he popped up on an episode of Mad Men.

    • pop

      HA!

  • Stacy

Didn’t Tina Fey spoil this at the Emmys already?

  • raftrap

Just hoping for a Kanye Jordan moment, and lots of “Tootsie” references.

  • couchgrouch

word around NBC is that Alec Baldwin will make an appearance, too. off the record, on the QT and strictly hush, hush.

    • Lenny

THIS JUST IN they’re gonna make some jokes.

  • Jamie

Of course Matt Damon is going to be on. He’s promoting his new movie and he needs to get his face out there.

    • @Jamie

      he’s a recurring character, dingbat.

  • steph

this isn’t scoop, i know ausiello is leaving, but that doesn’t mean you have to lower the bar

    • Brian

Sounds like someone’s got a case of the Mondays.

  • C

As everyone else is saying, this is not at all news. And actually, details of the plot aren’t being kept under wraps at all…there was a press release and everything. The episode is about **spoiler alert** how it’s Liz’s birthday and no one remembers.

  • Live 30 Rock.. JonvsMatt

What!! Didn’t Jon Hamm character play her boyfriend..?? and is Matt
and Jon’s character going to fight
over her..??Weird since Jon’s character has not been mentioned in
    a while..Live anything can happen.

  • Rep

I know how he feels my cousin had
four or five boys in a row.
