'HIMYM' First Look: Watch Jennifer Morrison's debut!

himymImage Credit: Ron P. Jaffe/CBSWill she turn out to be the mother? Beats me! All I know for sure is that ex-House doc Jennifer Morrison is joining How I Met Your Mother this Monday as an extremely significant other in Ted’s life. Her character, an architecture nut named Zoey, is smitten with Ted…until she discovers that the fancy new building he’s designing is going to replace the historic one she’s trying to preserve. The following clip from Monday’s episode takes place before the you-know-what hits the fan…

I was worried her comedy chops may not be up to snuff – her House comedy moments often fell a little flat. I’m not reassured, yet.

    • Shane S.

      You must ship Huddy.

      • Jen

Oh yeah just b/c someone doesn’t like JMo’s acting they must ship Huddy. Give me a break.

WOWOWO!!! I strongly suggest you a great s ite

My GOD!! Horrible actress is horrible! She can’t do comedy. I think HIYM screwed themselves with this one.

      • RyanPA

Well, that’s your opinion, I on the other hand find her extremely talented and think she can do great comedy. I can’t wait to see her on Monday. PS, HIMYM producers are very happy to have her on board.

      • Val

agreed with RyanPA. She’s a great and talented actress

      • Tim

Yup. This is a horrible decision if she is. They should have just stuck with Rachel Bilson actually being the mother and not wussed out at the last second.

    • Sally

She’s good at comedy, she was really funny in the movie Table for Three – I’m sure she’ll do great on HIMYM!

      • Patty

Table for Three? That was a horrible movie. I hope she will do better in HIMYM!!!

      • Erin

Table for Three was one of the worst movies ever to grace my TV. And I’ve seen a lot of movies.

    • Elm

I am with you John. Instead of picking someone exciting they decided to go with plain and boring. Meh.

    • John

Original poster back: To be clear, I did like her in House, but that was not a comedy role. Her comedy moments in House were a bit flat, which worries me for HIMYM. However, I still hope she knocks it out of the park. That clip wasn’t something that reassured me, though.

      • iCarly better

she is certainly not as pretty as she used to be – did not age well

      • FidiaS

I don´t like her at all. She is too old to be the mother. Ted looks so much younger. It doesn´t fit.

      • b

@FidiaS – She’s five years younger than Josh Radnor and a year younger than Ted. Josh looks very young for his age.

  • MiMi

    meh..

  • great

    She’s stunning!!! thanks!!!

  • Rebecca

She can’t be the mother. In the Season Premiere Ted said he met the mother at “the wedding”.

    • Caiti

I know, why is he so obsessed with trying to get us to think she’s the mother? I don’t know if he’s even watching the show. He’s skipped HIMYM on his scoop twice in a row.

    • Stella

Maybe he met her AGAIN at the wedding…

    • aleki

probably this is just semantics, but …Ted didn’t say that he met the Mother for the first time at the wedding, but that he met her at the wedding. About the university, Zoey is enrolled at Ted’s class, then it means that she is a student of the university.
But honestly I don’t care if Zoey will be the Mother.
I care to see Jennifer Morrison in a comedy and that HIMYM will be always a fantastic sitcom

  • Lola

    she’s so great !!

  • Pete

I also don’t know what to think about her coming to HIMYM. I never like her character on House and never found her acting very good. I guess she won’t be the mother but still.

  • Sarah

LOL at the “I got arrested lot of times” part. It looks fun.

  • Go Jen!!

She will be great, I’m sure! She IS great!

  • Lisa

How do you know she wasn’t at the wedding?

    • Keir

The wedding hasn’t happened yet. Zoe could be at the wedding, but Ted won’t meet her for the first time there.

  • Em

    She’s awesome!

  • Helio

thanks Mike !! They’re cute together
    can’t wait for monday

  • Helen

I have to say I find her fans starting to annoy me. The HIMYM fandom was always a nice community and her fans seem to be rather rude.

    • Alia

The insane House fandom is part of the reason why I stopped watching that show. The hostility in that group is very off-putting.

      • Coyote

Now that’s just silly. You can watch a show and not read fan forums you know.

      • Alia

Well, like I said, it was PART of the reason. Another part was that the showrunners actually started listening to the fans instead of trusting their own instincts. Plus, I think the quality of the show started to go downhill after a while (about one season after they switched out the old team for the new team, to be exact.) And it’s on at the same time as Chuck, to which I am completely devoted.

    • RyanPA

aren’t you being a bit rude towards all her fans too?

    • Sally

Most of her fans are actually very nice people.
I’ve been a fan of HIMYM before Jennifer joined for the few episodes and will be after, and I’ve been a long time fan of Jen. I’m just excited to see one of my favorite actresses on one of my favorite shows. And so are many of my fellow Jen fans :-)

      • LikesZooey

I think 99% of Jennifer’s fans are very nice and are thrilled that she has a chance of such a quality show as HIMYM. There are a few bad apples, as there are in ANY fandom, but I don’t think it’s fair to make such a sweeping statement about her fans in general. I’m sorry that you have come across some rude ones, but what about the nice ones? I plan to watch the show now that she’s on it, but I’ll probably keep away from the forums.

I think she did a great job in this clip. I’m looking forward to seeing her.

      • LikesZooey

Oops, sorry Sally. That’s wasn’t meant to be addressed to you! I’m glad you are rooting for Jennifer.

    • katia

helen, her fans rude? No, JMO haters (alias huddy fans) hate her so much without no reason *sorry my bad english*

  • Sarrie

    She’s doing great!
I do like this preview, hope they will keep up =)

  • Adrian

I have a theory that Zoey will not be the mother but will become very close friends with Ted and potentially the rest of the gang. In the premiere Ted was a best man at someone’s wedding my guess is that her and Ted get so close that he is her best man and at her wedding is where he will finally meet the mother.

    • Alberto

      I’ve had this thought too…

    • beechnut

I think “the wedding” is Robin and Barney’s and Ted is the best man

      • Alia

That’d be nice, but do you think we’re likely to get there in the space of just one season? Isn’t the wedding supposed to be this season’s finale?

  • Ceecile

She can’t be the mom. She was supposed to be into Economics wasn’t she?

    • Ceecile

Plus Ted met the mom at the future weding (Barney’s?)
