The House and Lost actress — who picked up an Emmy in 1998 for portraying psycho stalker Annie Dutton on Guiding Light — is headed to Desperate Housewives to play Bree’s (literally) crazy friend, sources confirm to me exclusively.
We’ll meet Watros’s character in Housewives‘ ninth episode when she accompanies Bree and new boytoy Keith (Brian Austin Green) on a double date. Rumor has it Watros’ escort for the evening is Keith’s pa, played by John Schneider.
Watros will juggle her one-episode Housewives stint with her current recurring role as Wilson’s ex-wife-turned-girlfriend Sam on House.
ABC loves them some crazy Cynthia Watros.

It’s funny, but whenever I see a “Lost” actor/actress on another show, it feels they are really in a Lost Flash sideways. Daniel Dae Kim doesn’t really work for Hawaii 5-0. He’s there because he’s trying to find his wife & his other Lost island friends while fighting crime with McGarret and Dan-O.
It will feel the same with Ms. Watros on Wysteria LAne.
So why was Penny cheating on Desmond with Joe Fiennes?
Especially since Desmond’s a dreamboat, while Fiennes’ Shakespeare in Love days are far behind him.

Bree checked herself into a psychiatric hospital at the end of season two, where she met Orson. It was one of the plot that didn’t progress further after the sophomore slump.

She was Great on Titus Shes a good actress & needs a steady bit on a show,comedy or straight she can do both & shes not hard to look at. Put her on Cougar Town & she can do both AND look good at the same time! SEE problem solved !!

I was a long time Guiding Light fan and I remember Cynthia as crazy Annie Dutton. She without a doubt deserved that Emmy that year. The coutroom scene and the wedding scene, INCREDIBLE!
Oh I miss GL! Annie was a great character. I have tried to catch anything that Cynthia Watros does and yes she was great on Titus.
Yeah, I’ve been following her career ever since! I don’t watch House but considered picking it up just for her, so I’m psyched she’ll be on a show I actually watch.
I’m thrilled with this news as I’ve wanted her on Desperate Housewives for years! I always thought it would make for a terrific combo. Even just an episode will do. Hopefully more will come.

Hell yeah! That would have been the most awesome way to send that soap out to pasture! Annie Dutton’s by far one of my all-time favorite soap-psycho characters! She was so damn crazy it was a riot every time she came on screen!
