Image Credit: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images; Jack Rowand/The CWAt this rate, Robert Englund is going to surpass Summer Glau as cult TV’s No. 1 go-to guest star. Filmdom’s original Freddy Krueger has closed a deal to appear in the Dec. 10 episode of Supernatural, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Englund — who is set to terrorize Team Bartowski on next Monday’s Halloween-themed Chuck — will play a character known simply as Dr. Robert.
“Hunters often find themselves in situations where they need medical attention but can’t exactly stroll into an ER,” explains exec producer Sera Gamble. “Robert plays an unlicensed doc who makes his living stitching folks up on the down low. One of our guys goes to him with a life-or-death problem.”

Come on! Bobby’s episode last week was great. Finally we get to see some insight into the man. Also, bravo on Jensen’s directorial debut on that episode.
I thought “The Third Man” was pretty awesome, too. Slow start to the season, maybe, but it’s definitely picking up!

Very cool. Supernatural’s casting director deserves some recognition. They get some great character actors on this show.
And a lot of their no-name guest stars end up doing really well later in their careers. (Cory Monteith, WH13′s Joanne Kelly, Jamie Ray Newman from Eastwick and Eureka…)
