Breaking: CBS orders full seasons of 'Hawaii Five-0,' 'Blue Bloods,' 'Mike & Molly,' 'Defenders,' and '$#*!'

For the record, the winning quintet includes Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Mike & Molly, The Defenders, and (contain your excitement about this last one) $#*! My Dad Says.

Of the five, Mike & Molly and Five-0 have emerged as the net’s biggest new hits — although the latter is beginning to look vulnerable on Mondays-at-10. The older-skewing Blue Bloods is Friday’s top show (and that’s among new and returning series), while $#*! continues to retain an acceptable percentage of its Big Bang lead-in on Thursdays. Lastly, The Defenders is holding its own on Wednesdays-at-10.

“and (contain your excitement about this last one) $#*! My Dad Says.” still LOL

    • Larry David

And ALL the show they renewed suck, suck, suck, suck, suck, and suck! Now what, are we supposed to be the happiest people on the planet? Am I supposed to call my mother and loved ones to tell them the exciting news? Terrible TV at its best.
Wake me up when they renew ‘Carnivale’.

      • CJ

Does the fact that you’ve gone to sleep mean we won’t have to read you comments any more? Now that would be a reason to get excited over.

      • baj24

I agree with Larry for once. These show are all kind of meh.

      • Brandon

All the shows are good, Five O , Defenders, and Blue Bloods are great. If you dont understand that then read a book.

      • soulstryka

I still check on updates for Carnivale from time to time.. I know LD’s playing the ubber troll here, but I gotta agree with him on this.

      • Adam

Do you like anything Larry? you have negative comments on every story and show on this site, ur a disgrace to the name Larry David and wish u would go away.

      • Joe

Em, Carnivale was an HBO show I believe, completely irrelevant to CBS. Pick an old CBS canceled show and maybe your stupid comment would be relevant again.

      • ej

“all of the new shows are good” haha no they really are not at all

      • Cathy

Larry – I wish they would block you on this site, because all you ever do is whine. Get over yourself. If it’s that horrible for you, then stop watching tv, so we don’t have to see your comments.

      • Suzy to Larry

Larry, you are brilliant, inciteful and honest as opposed to these other mindless, superficial automatons here who suck up all the tv drivel thrown at them, like it’s their last meal. Disgusting. Larry, keep talking!

    • dorian

Thanks Fat America for giving us the garbage that is Mike and Molly. Making me choose b/w Community, Big Bang Theory and Bones sucks.

      • Joe

Enter the DVR / Hulu and maybe you won’t have to pick…

      • The First Real Jersey Jeff

What don’t you get. It’s FAT people, and that is all you need for a good laugh. If only other sitcoms figured out such a great concept. Fat people that is all you need to make the funny.

  • Tvshogal

    WOOOOOOT!

  • Nicotine

I’m happy about The Defenders, Blue Bloods and Hawaii Five-O!!!

    • jenn

Me too! Love Blue Bloods and H50…was worried about The Defenders. Hope it continues to do well.

      • Brandon

        BLUE BLOODS IS AMAZING

      • Patty

Love H50 and Blue Bloods. Enjoying The Defenders. It is a good stress reliever after Criminal Minds which I also like a lot.

    • ks

      Me too! Yahoo

    • Suzy

Blue Bloods is passable – there’s not much on on Friday – but undeserving of the swooning shown here. More of Donnie Wahlberg and less of everyone else would be a step in the right direction. Love Tom but can’t stand to see him sitting at a desk, presiding over the dinner table and washing dishes. Really? Is this how you want to use Tom Selleck? Ridiculous. Hate the self-righteous lawyer daughter – she is a pain.

      • Nila

Not much on Fridays? Are you kidding? For my money, the Smallville/Supernatural block on CW is the best night of television right now. Smallville’s final season might just be it’s best, and Supernatural is surprisingly fresh and entertaining with the new post-non-apocalypse story arc.

  • carl25ar

    I’m glad. I follow FIVE-O.

    • Suzy

      Five-O SUCKS.

  • t.t

happy for Hawaii five O and the defenders
    both good shows

    • Suzy

Five-0 is a sham of a mockery of a sham of a travesty of a mockery of the original series. I was desperately hoping it would be cancelled.

  • WHAT?!

    S#IT!

  • barbara

well, it’s not all the freshman series of CBS: blue bloods didn’t get full order. that’s bad… :(

    • Steven

Read the article. Yes it did.

    • barbara

my mistake, blue bloods got the order…

      • MEegan

Sorry, I just saw your update!

    • MEegan

It says in the title that Blue Bloods got the full order. It also says it is Friday’s top show.

  • Ryan

Yay for Blue Bloods and Five-0!

    • Lorie

      Ditto!

  • rachel

    H50 and Blue Bloods!! Excellent!

  • Lubbeelou

    Yayyyyyy I love Blue Bloods!

  • Dave

Everyone likes to pick on the Shatner show, but it’s amusing enough, and certainly better than other comedies that have had as many as 8 seasons on other networks. Yes, I’m looking at you ABC. According to Jim was unforgivable. It’s not even the worst sitcom to be picked up for a full season. That honor belongs to Outsourced.

    • Have you ever seen an episode of Outsourced? Ever? Or are you yet another bandwagoner who can’t form an opinion on his own?

      • Bill

Yeah, no, &^%$ My Dad Says is much worse then Outsourced. Don’t let the pilot reviews mislead you. Shatner deserves better. I’ve stuck through both (I know, what was I thinking?) and while Outsourced gets somewhat better, Shatner’s show is painfully bland from episode to episode.

    • Margie

Actually, I think the scenes with just Shatner and secondary players are quite funny. It’s when the young guy who plays his son is on that everything drops dead. Any way to replace the “my” of the title?

  • Jacob

I’m definitely excited about Five-0 and Blue Bloods, those are both excellent shows.

  • MEegan

Hawaii Five-0 is great mindless entertainment, shot like a movie. The Defenders is a big surprise for me–I really love it. Jerry and Jim are great leads. Really fun show, watch it if you haven’t given it a chance yet. Especially nice because Wednesday is a slow TV night for me.

    • MaryJane

I agree with Megan, I love H50 (totally surprised me that a remake has me hooked) And even more surprising for me is how much I like the Defenders. That is not the type of show I’m usually interested in, but I took a look at a couple of episodes, and I really like the show. While Jerry O’ is one of my favorites anyway (he’s getting better with age), who’d a thunk that I’d want to watch a show with Jim Belushi in it?

    • DK

I agree as well. H5O is brain candy. I like it even my wife does as well – if it wasnt for Caan it wouldnt be as good but it works. It does have to compete with Castle but thats what DVR is for and Defenders is very enjoyable!

  • shawshank

I never see ANYTHING about Mike and Molly on this site. I had forgot it existed. And apparently it is the most successful?

    • Rick

I have found that Mike and Molly is my favorite new show. It’s really a sweet romantic comedy. My concern is how will the writers sustain it?

      • Mal

I always see Mike and Molly on the top 20 list in the EW magazine, but never hear it mentioned as a hit. I don’t understand that.

      • steph

I agree. I freaking love Mike & Molly. I wish there would be more stories about it.

  • chelsea

Totally excited for H50 and Blue Bloods. Go Alex, Tom, and Donnie! Chit My Dad Says??? Not so much!
