'Terra Nova' casting is almost complete; production begins next month in Australia

terra-nova-casting20th Century Fox TV has found the youths who’ll help round out Jason O’Mara’s family in the upcoming time-traveling drama Terra Nova. Landon Liboiron (DeGrassi: The Next Generation) will play Josh, the 17-year-old of Jim (O’Mara) and Elisabeth (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s Shelley Conn) Shannon who also finds a father figure in Frank Taylor (Avatar’s Stephen Lang). Newcomer Naomi Scott will play his sister Maddy, a bright 15-year-old, while newcomer Alana Mansour has signed on as Zoe, the youngest member of the Shannon clan who is smuggled into the time-traveling portal that takes everyone to the Terra Nova settlement.

Other actors who have previously joined the high-concept series include Mido Hamada (24) and Allison Miller (Boston Legal). The drama that bows next May still has one more series regular role to fill before it starts production. The series takes place 100 years in the future.

This is whats gonna happen. Producers find actors, spend a TON of money on project, say that it will be the best thing ever. Show comes on, no one watches, show sucks, then gets cancelled. This is exactly what will happen for this show.

    • Vickie

Wow since you’re apparently psychic I guess the networks should just hire you.

      • Kate

Turns out he was right eh.

    • Cris

Well, guess I won’t waste my time watching the show. Thanks, Larry. I’m glad I can look to you to let me know what to watch and what to like.

      • Larry David

My opinion matters. Above all less, make sure you know that. Thanks Cris.

    • Tarc

      Troll.

    • TVTroz

Get lost, “Larry”. Your “opinions” are almost as useless and irritating that those advertising bots that infest these boards with their amazing dating sites. Blegh. Be gone. That is all.

Brannon Braga is one of the primary creators of this project. He is one of the least talented people working in the business. I feel bad for the folks involved in this project. At best, it will be an interesting idea that is horribly executed.

    • Tarc

      Agreed, Braga really, truly blows.

      • TVTroz

Braga was able to ruin Star Trek, that’s the power of his suckiness

I loved Jason O’Mara when he was in ” Life on Mars” …I can’t wait for this!

  • chattypatra

I love Jason O’Mara’s work, so I’ll be giving it a chance.

  • Briana

    Landon Liboiron! Ah!

  • Michael Sacal

“The series takes place 100 years in the future”

Or 65 million years in the past. It depends on how you look at it, heh.

  • dee123

So it flops, they get paid to spend a year in Australia, in the same state as The Great Barrier Reef. I can think of worse jobs.

  • Emma

brannon braga does suck, and so will the show.

  • Steve

Gee, Larry, maybe you need to curb your enthusiasm…

  • Anonymous

I don’t know if I should be worried about this, but Fox better not cancel Fringe and replace it with this potential crapfest.

  • Ford

I heard they laid all the writers and producers off including David Fury.

  • Saritha

I was realy hoping u guys would pik a kid with more exotic looking than the usual Generic blue eyed blond haired boy to play Josh. It should have been light choclate skin with may b blue/ green contacts to realy make the kid look like the mix of the parents. aah ok choice for the boy. the girls r fine.

  • wade

I like that they are casting fairly unknowns. They need to cast a new hot girl. Ethnic one, I’m sick of the same faces churning out of the “straight to test” list that somehow will never take a risk on someone new. It’s stupid how much fear is involved.

  • Selyna Jones

Oh my goshh! I LOVEE the casts. especially Landon Liboiron <33
This show is going to be sooooo freaking awesomee! i.can't.wait!!!
