Damn.. I am working throw all the battlestar galactica seasons and was looking forward to watching Caprica.
me too man..I’m on season 4 but the new prequel sounds interesting
The original idea for a BSG prequel entitled Caprica was supposed to be about the War. Then SciFi(Syfy) changed it because they had another idea about a family drama robot saga which they tied into the Battlestar Galactica Universe.
Caprica isn’t really anything like BSG (probably why it didn’t carry over much of the audience). It’s way more melodramatic and none of the characters are particularly likable.
FRAK.
Well, I guess now we’ll never know how that human/cylon situation ended.
Something tells me that things dont end well
I loved caprica NOW THEY CANCELD IT!
I am very upset that:
a. This show was canceled
b. That I ended up finding out about the cancellation on the EW site, instead of on the SyFy site
The network didn’t even have the stones to announce this on their own website! Wimps!!
c. That EW had to interrupt its non-stop Glee coverage to announce it.
SyFy really screwed up this time. First of all Stargate Universe sucks. Its an awful lead in. Caprica being on at 10 is dumb, should have been on at 8. This is garbage.
I think Syfy’s schedule this year stinks, anyway. While I still love to watch Ghost Hunters & Destination Truth, the only new show worth anything has been Fact or Fiction. I don’t like the way they broke up their shows, though, where they seem to have tried to put on one interesting show a night, I’d rather they keep the GH & DT and Fact or Fiction, together, since I like to watch my paranormal shows together, not spread out through the week. They really screwed up their schedules this season.
Not a surprise even though I supported Caprica by watching it regularly. As folks said, there was something that was missing to make it click. Probably the lack of any real villain hurt it as well as the fact that we all already know that the cylons eventually gain self awareness, rebel and slaughter everyone.
Sorry to hear the bad news.
That’s really unfortunte. I don’t see why the didn’t give this show a chance. Great cast and it was really picking up steam
Just when the cylons were making their debut….bummer.
Now get rid of SGEwwww.
I would normally agree with you but then we’d be left with no Stargate at all other than reruns… Problem with SGU is that it’s not really campy or fun to watch over and over again like the original SG1…
Frak you, Syfy! I think their decision to move the show to Tuesdays at 10pm was poor because there’s some pretty stiff competition at that hour. And also their habit of breaking a season into two halves is dumb- I get that it brings in revenue from DVD sales, but what about building an audience? Caprica might have done well if it had run through the summer.
Exactly, Brady. I couldn’t agree more.
nailed it
I’m losing faith in Syfy. May seek my fix elsewhere.
I loved Battlestar. LOVED it. And I’ve been watching Caprica.
But let’s be honest.. it’s a very slow show. I kept waiting for it to go somewhere and.. it’s not.
We all heard that the end of this season kind of picks it up and might even jump in time (this is from months ago, before they split it up into two parts).
The thing I’m most sad about is that they aren’t even letting it finish out its run. It would have been finished by Thanksgiving, why couldn’t they just let it go? Now we have to wait and see if it gets aired.. ever. I’m not holding out a lot of hope for it airing in the winter.
