'One Life to Live' scoop: 'General Hospital's' Ted King moves to Llanview

Ted-KingEW has learned that Ted King — best known to daytime audiences for playing Lorenzo/Luiz Alcazar on General Hospital from 2002-07 — will join One Life to Live in January. King, who last appeared on Prison Break from 2008-09, is currently developing his character with the Life producers so he doesn’t know whether his character Luis will be a lover, a fighter, or both.

All ABC can say for now is that he’ll work with Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer). His first airdate is Jan. 21.

“We’re creating this together,” King told EW exclusively. “It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up on. When I was originally hired (for GH), it was for a short period of time. I had every attention of going back to primetime. But during that time, I really enjoyed myself with the role – a lot more than I thought.”

King’s also appeared on CSI: Miami, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Sex and the City.

He has never played Jasper Jacks on General Hospital. He plays Luis then came back as Luis’ brother Lorenzo.

That was a silly mistake. It’s not hard to get these things right.

I appreciate EW’s attempt to cover soaps, but it’d be really great if they got their information correct.

Let me add, I will be watching. I can only hope OLTL brings Skye back. A Skye/Luis/Blair triangle. Need a soap since I just took GH off my DVR. I just can’t take Mini Mobster and The Borg anymore. Or that silly little kid Spinelli, the self-righteous Dante/Olivia and the victimized Lucky.

      That would be GREAT!!!!!

GH is just not the same to me with Lorenzo–Ted King gone!
I’m so Happy he is back on one of my soaps!!!

    • Tracey

But he’s playing a different character while Skye is the same so that won’t work. Oh wait it’s the soaps, of course it can.

Sorry, didn’t take the first time. I like the soaps, but come on didn’t anyone ever tell you……IT IS NOT REAL…IT IS ENTERTAINMENT. At least for those of us that understand that and have just a little bit of intelligence. Come on people, get a life!

  • RLA

    agreed!

Someone else said it before, but he was never Jax on GH…We appreciate that you actually pay attention to the soaps, but please check your facts!

Great news! He was terrific on GH and I had hoped that he would return someday. Oh well, he will make a terrific pairing with Blair.

  • Janeway

Thanks for the news EW. I too would like to see more coverage of the soaps. We fans are still here.

“Let me add, I will be watching. I can only hope OLTL brings Skye back. A Skye/Luis/Blair triangle”

I’m not sure if that would work or not. I thought Skye/Luiz had some chemistry but for some reason Skye/Lorenzo didn’t have that much.

BEST TUESDAY EVER!!! He will always be Andy Trudeau (charmed) to me.

    • mary moreno

      There you go!!!!!!!

  • Sue Brady

Thanks for the acknowledgment of daytime, specifically OLTL!!

  • Mincha

Oh, man. I am not looking forward to the inevitable Blair/Luis/Todd triangle (or quadrangle if Tea’s still around). But I do like Ted King.

  • Rose Anne

I’m thrilled to see Ted King on OLTL, but would prefer to see him work with Kassie DePaiva. He deserves someone who brings the heat, and I believe they’d be magic.

  • Bonnie Beck

I think Ted King and Kassie DePaiva will work GREAT together!!
I like Todd with Tea and Todd and Blair as just friends use to be a fan of theirs but like them better as friends!

  • Rachelle

You fans are lucky to have the Tedaroni again! Yippy he is going to be awesome!!!!!!

  • gato

Please keep up the soap news, they need all the press they can get!!! There are still alot of soap fans.
