Hulu has lowered the price of its Hulu Plus subscription service to $7.99 per month — the same price as Netflix’s streaming-only tier. In a post on the company’s blog today, Hulu’s CEO also announced that they’d be offering a free one-week trial of the service for all new subscribers, and a free preview month with the purchase of a new Roku, among other deals. “Hulu Plus is already accounting for a material percentage of Hulu’s overall business,” Jason Kilar wrote, without specifying what exactly that percentage was.
Hulu Plus, which debuted in July, offers more episodes of more shows than the free version, and is supported on a variety of devices, including iPads, iPhones and some web-enabled televisions.

I can’t catch up watching all the free content on Hulu, so it’s doubtful I will ever pay for a membership. I am happy, however, to pay for Netflix, so you never know!
This is so true because I love Netflix. I think its because Netflix has never offered their service for free like HULU did in the beginning and that im use to paying for Netflix that i dont mind. If Hulu dropped it to 4.99 i would heavily consider it…

Since when does Netflix have a streaming-only tier like u describe? Been a member for 8+ years & per Netflix.com cheapest plan w/ unlimited streaming is $8.99/mo (plus 1 DVD out at a time). There is a streaming only plan for $7.99/mo but that is ONLY Starz Play, not the entire streaming library. Isn’t your description a little deceptive, or at least inaccurate? Also Hulu has current tv shows, Netflix has movies and tv shows but not current tv seasons. Two totally different things to compare, isn’t it?
