'The Young and the Restless' scoop: Ellen Greene brings joy to Genoa City!

Ellen-GreeneImage Credit: Albert L. Ortega/PR PhotosIt’s been a while since EW reported some exclusive casting news from The Young and the Restless, TV’s most-watch daytime show. So here’s some! Ellen Greene is stopping by Genoa City to play Primrose, a gal who represents a surprising link to the past that brings unexpected joy to Billy and Victoria. Her episodes begin airing Friday, Jan. 7.

Greene’s a TV veteran, having appeared on such shows as Cybill, Suddenly Susan, Pushing Daisies, and most recently, Heroes and Privileged.

Thanks for the scoop. I love Billy and Victoria so I’m looking forward to this. They’re the best soap couple I’ve seen in many, many years!

You are so right. I used to dislike Victoria, because she was just like her jerk of a father. But her character has become so fantastic since she’s been with Billy, and I think the writers are geniuses for what they’ve turned her character in to. I’ve always loved Billy (since Billy Miller has played him, anyway), and I really think the writers have crafter their relationship perfectly, great job from the actors too! I really hope Vicky wins the suit against that slimeball Victor.

Y&R is the only soap I watch so I love reading about it here. Looking forward to seeing what this story is about since Billy and Vicky are the only reason I still watch the show. Thanks :)

Luv her in Little Shop Of Horrows.

    Y&R should keep sean young!!!

Great news! I can’t wait to see her. I just love Y&R. I wonder if she has something to do with a baby for Billy and Victoria? I’d love to see them have a baby or adopt.

My favorite soap for many years, As The world Turns was very cool. I would have rather seen Bold & Beautiful be replaced with it. Nice to see Carly back as Diane on Y&R.

This great I love Billy and Victoria
I can’t wait to find out what it is

I wanna see Ellen Greene on GLEE!!! How fabulous would that be?

    • Snsetblaze

OMG that would be fabulous. Her and Patti LuPone.

    • Dani

That, my friend, would kick serious ass.

I am BEYOND THRILLED to see that Vickie and Billy will finally be HAPPY! It is about time something good happens for them. They are MY FAVORITE couple and ONLY reason for watching Y & R..

  • Rachelle

This is so awesome!!!! I absolutely adore Billy and Victoria. They are the best soap couple I have seen in years!!!!

And how awesome it this… Ellen Greene being on Young and the Restless!!!!!!

  • josher

Lynette! How could you write a blurb about Ellen Greene and not mention “Little Shop of Horrors?” She was the best part of both the musical and film.

  • Jessica

I love Billy and Victoria! They are the best thing on YR or any soap for that matter!

  • Mcfly

I agree with Josher. No bio of Ellen Greene is complete without a mention of her performance of the part she originated in the Musical version of Little Shop of Horrors off broadway and on film.

Well, this is a happy Friday. Ellen Greene news… Y&R on EW… what more could you ask for.

Off to read the Fringe recap.

  • Kim

    I kinda miss “Pushing Daisies”.

I wonder if she will be bringing Reed home. I always liked J.t. and really thought at the wedding he would decide to let Reed stay with V&B. How could he do that to his son, I mean I understand it’s his son too but to take a kid away from his Mother is selfish especially a good Mother. I hope they don’t have her get pregnant with a replacement baby for Reed. I love Y&R but they make kids so expendable!

    • Jen

I’d love to see Reed come home to his Mother! I hated J.T. taking her only son away from her. The little boy that plays Reed is so adorable so I hope they bring him back to live with Billy and Victoria while J.T. and Mac can stay offscreen forever!
