Image Credit: Adam Larkey/ABCMore than 24.1 million people tuned in to Dancing With the Stars to see if Bristol Palin would win (she didn’t), which helped ABC achieve its most-watched Tuesday in three years. The two-hour finale won its time period in viewers and adults 18-49 (5.3 rating/15 share) and finished as the night’s No. 1 show by wide margins over CBS’ NCIS and Fox’s Glee, according to preliminary results.
The show even gained viewers and young adults throughout the broadcast: In the final half hour, the show lured 26.4 million viewers and posted a 6.0/17 in 18-49. (Each 18-49 ratings point represents 1.3 million.) The results show brought another 4.8 million viewers to ABC compared to last year and posted a 23 percent gain in the key demo. That was also the finale’s biggest audience in six seasons and its best demo rating in five seasons.
Too bad No Ordinary Family ran before the finale and not after: It only earned a 1.8/5 in the demo and 6.9 million. Still, ABC easily won the night in 18-49 (4.1/12) and viewers (18.4 million).
OK, enough about the world of the mirror ball and Michael Chiklis. Glee was on, too, and earned bragging rights of its own. It was the highest-rated program of the night among adults 18-34 and teens, but the episode was down 20 percent in the 18-49 demo (to a 4.0/12) versus last week’s highly-rated Gwyneth Paltrow episode. Last night’s episode averaged 10.3 million. Raising Hope delivered a 2.4/7 among adults 18-49 and averaged 5.6 million viewers. It was followed by a Hope repeat. As a result, Fox had to settle for third place in the demo (3.0/9) and viewers (7.6 million).
CBS was second in 18-49 (3.1/9) and viewers (14.5), with NCIS earning a 3.9/11 and 18.7 million viewers, followed by NCIS: Los Angeles (3.2/9, 14.8 million) and The Good Wife (2.1/6, 9.4 million). NBC was fourth in the demo (2.2/6) and viewers (6.0 million), with The Biggest Loser earning a 2.4/7 and 6.7 million and Parenthood scoring a 1.9/5 and 4.4 million.

I think the perfect couple won. This is a dance competition, not a popularity contest. Jennifer & Derek very much deserved this win. They were both fabulous.
BUT…the BIG ratings reported on above will only encourage ABC to fuel the sleaze monster. They got big ratings with Kate Gosselin last year and last night’s ratings were higher than last year because of the Bristol Palin factor (many tuning in to make sure she DIDN’T win…) You can bet that the suits at ABC are already wracking their pea-brains trying to figure out which Real Housewife or star fresh out of rehab will boost next season’s ratings For Dancing With The Imfamous…
Ditto! I guess the Tea Party’s votes for Bristol didn’t surpasse Jennifer’s dancing talents and scores.
The real winner of this season was the show itself. That’s why they put Bristol on in the first place -to get people all riled up and overly invested in the show for ratings sake. Also, they got more votes than ever.
I am glad Jennifer won, though. Love her! She’s a mega MILF!!!

Because Parenthood got terrible reviews unlike Terriers on fox at 10 PM wednesdays. Watch it a couple of times then you will understand.

It’s all about personal taste. For me Mad Men, Glee and Terriers are the best show on TV hands down.
I love Glee, but the best shows for me right now are The Walking Dead and Fringe.

Jennifer Grey was the most complaining egotistical dancer they have ever had on there, oh woe is me, every single week,plus she was a dancer in her last life 30 years ago, come on people, she acted like she knew she was going to win from the very beginning.
So she danced in one movie 20 years ago and suddenly she’s Nicole Scherzinger/Mya? C’mon.
Plus she’s 50 years old. She looks great but a person is not in the same shape at 50 as at 20.

Parenthood is one of the few shows on that actually gets better every single week. This weeks episode was a holiday themed episode that was just as good and had just as much emotion as every other episode. This show is astounding, its only too bad that I’m one of the meager 4 mil that watch it. How shows like NCIS gets more viewers will forever puzzle me.
NCIS gets the most viewers because it’s the best show.
This is just what it was like the first 2 years, when it got 22, 24 to 25 million on the 2005 and 2006 shows. It’s back to its stride again!

There is no scientific evidence to prove any of the cross related bogus elements of christianity. The pope is running a bigger fraud than Madoff’s $50 billion ripoff. Today’s evangelical extremists are like the nazis who cast others into ovens & are actually supremacists – who practice their bogus hocus pocus – and are trying to suppress and deprive others of their happiness and their legal rights in an open and proud society. The Right Honourable Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien told the Vatican that there was to be no cross erected over the Canadian Parliament buildings figuratively speaking; when the Pope demanded the Prime Minister go against gay rights. An Alberta bishop had the audacity to say that The Canadian Prime Minister would go to hell for going against the church. Such outrageous evil threats. The Right Honourable Prime Minister in return; basically told the Pope to go to Hell! The Honourable Irwin Cotler, Canadian Minister of Justice, stood for equal rights for the gay community. With reference to protecting the children: The Honourable Hedy Fry, member of the Canadian Liberal Parliament, who happens to be a doctor who delivered many babies; spoke eloquently to defend the rights of babies being born and stated that she was in fact defending their rights by speaking on behalf of equal rights for the children and youth of the future — defending their integrity and dignity. Minority rights must be decided by a dignified judicial system and/or a compassionate government.
United States is supposedly fighting for democracy but within the U.S. they treat gays like secondary citizens. Being left-handed, black or being gay is just as natural. If blacks’ or women’s rights were cast to the masses to decide … then the majority or lunatic religious fringe in this case — has the advantage to decide minority rights. The annual economic impact of gay travelers is about $63 billion in the U.S. alone.
A great story pertains to a boy at a catholic school in Oshawa, Ontario who wanted to take his boyfriend to his school prom. The evil catholic school forbid this. A father of one of the boys is an employee with General Motors Canada and the courageous union leader Buzz Hargrove stood up for the boys’ rights. The boy took his case through the courts and because the evil catholic school was benefiting from government funding which demands equal rights void of discrimination; the judge ordered the school to allow the two young boys to attend together. Their limo arrived at their prom with adoring onlookers.
Tell them to take that cross and shove it where the sun don’t shine and pay their taxes along the way before they take that cross down forever with its final station; extinction. It is written; so therefore it shall be? We are the chosen people? Such a wicked fantasy. To see the religious lunatics manipulate government and our lives is shameful.
To think of Matthew Shepard choking on his own blood after being savagely beaten; virtually sanctioned by the church is evil beyond comprehension; yet is the same as boys being bullied into suicide; most likely being supported by the bullies parents’ religious cults. Bigotry and hatemongering against gays should be banned. It is a sometimes rare occurrence to fall in Love and to hold that person in your heart and be loved in return … it is something that should be celebrated! If it is between two guys or girls all the better. It takes even more courage to defend that LOVE!
My father fought at the front on D-Day in Normandy … through the Battle of the Scheldt to Germany and grandfather was a Sgt. Major at Vimy. My Dad who was a catholic — is alive today at 87 and doesn’t believe in santa claus — an easter bunny or any of that bogus cross related filth.

Abused gay people should definitely talk to or write to their parents; friends; teachers & school principal … about the issue. Your story may save another person!
