'Game of Thrones': New teaser!

A new trailer for Game of Thrones, HBO’s adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s best-selling series, has hit, and whether or not you’re familiar with the tome, it looks intriguing: There’s Sean Bean (as Lord Eddard Stark, right-hand man to Mark Addy’s King Robert Baratheon), wielding a sword and decapitating a man. There’s Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister in trouble. There’s Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s Jamie Lannister, looking rather hot. And there’s two women about to have sex? Watch it below.

I am SO excited about this show! The books are perfection and it looks like the show is well on its way toward matching them.

    • Ryan

YES!!!!! If they do this show right then it could be one of the most amazing shows EVER!!!

  • Eli

    I agree with Ashley!

  • The Devil

So glad to see EW publicizing this series again. I really hope the show lives up to the novels!

    RRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

  • nodnarb

There’s tons of sex in these books, but I don’t recall 2 women having sex! I can’t tell who that is in that scene… looks like Daenerys is one of them?

    • ashley

it’s not in the first book, but remember how dany hooks up with one of her female servants?
also cersei has a brief fling with one of the noblewomen in a tub, or almost does, later in the series.

      • nodnarb

I think you’re right, I think it is the slave girl that teaches her how to pleasure Drogo. But in the book, they just talk about it. Looks like the show is going to take it to the next level. Meow!

      • James

Nope, they went all the way and later the slave offered to do it again and got turned away.

      • nodnarb

Hmm, I just double-checked, and as far as I can tell, Doreah only talks to Dany about sex. Do you have a passage I might be missing?

      • Mike

The scene James refers to happens much latter with Irri (name cant remeber exactly). It doesnt’t happen in the first book.

  • chasa

mike is correct SPOILERS, that scene does not happen until after Danny has the dragons. it happens on a boat(shes on a boat!) after mormont kisses her

  • Briana

    So pumped!

  • banana

AHHHH! this show is going to be amazing (i hope!) just now starting A Feast For Crows, and damn is it good. Very excited for this series…

    • dave

      march.

  • jodipo

Wow! Cannot wait for this to start!

  • Mike

The real question is…can they pan the series out for the 47 seasons it will have to run before the next book in the series is published?

    • Peter Vee

Heh. Yeah, I love Martin’s work, but I’m so sick of hearing about his trouble untangling the next book. He certainly knows other excellent writers, would it kill him to ask some of them for advice?

      • Kyle F

        You think that would help?

Writers have very different processes. Very, very, very different. Working together with someone else on a book is harder than writing it alone.

    • locke

No kidding! A Dance With Dragons will prob be published (finally) in about 2045. If we are lucky….c’mon George, just finish writing the damn thing already.

    • Unak78

I think he, the studios, and the publisher may be timing the release of a publishing date to coincide with the beginning of the series. We’ll hear something after the premier episode, I’d bet.

  • luvsean

The show is suppose to air this spring with April being the most likely month.

  • PNK

I shall watch Sean Bean in ANYTHING.
    Yum-O!

  • Paul

    Looks great, can’t wait.
Bet they’ll be three seasons in, though, before that fat slob G.R.R.M. finishes “A Dance With Dragons.” What’s his excuse this year? “I’m watching football” again?
