'Body of Proof' starring Dana Delany to bow March 29

Dana-DelanyImage Credit: Donna Svennevik/ABCABC announced today that Body of Proof, a new drama starring Dana Delany, will premiere on March 29. Delany will play Dr. Megan Hunt, a brainy neurosurgeon who starts a new career as a medical examiner after an accident prevents her from returning to the operating room.

The drama also stars Jeri Ryan, John Carroll Lynch, and Geoffrey Arend. Proof replaces Detroit 1-8-7, which will have finished its 18-episode run. Proof is expected to air after the results show of Dancing with the Stars, though ABC has yet to announce an official debut date for season 12 of the reality show.

FINALLY!!!!! Beginning to think that ABC wasn’t going to air this show before the lead characters were long gone.

The officaly DWTS date is March 21st with the first results show March 29th before the prem of BOP

LOVE Dana by-the-way..!!! Nice choice for Dr. Hunt,

  • AC

I just hope it lasts long enough so the television world can be blessed to see Eric Sheffer Stevens guest starring spot … and then the universe decides to make him a regular. Okay, wishful thinking.

Thought it’d be earlier, hope it’s good as Delaney is such a fantastic actress and should enliven the material.

I’m looking forward to this show mainly because of Dana (IMO hottest 50-something actress right now) and Jeri Ryan, but also because it has a Crossing Jordan vibe. But, did any of you notice with March 29th premiere date, they are probably going to get at most 8 episodes aired in this TV season (13 are being shot) That is unless ABC decides to air episodes 9-13 during the summer.

AMEN! This was among my most antitipcated fall shows and then when ABC stalled… ??? It sounds like it should be a success. I hope so. Would hope DETROIT 1-8-7 is not abandoned because of the tough time slot. It, too, has merit.

Who will play her husband, Michael?

I bet this means the end of Detroit 1-8-7, which is a shame. I know there’s a glut of cop shows, but there is also a glut of medical examiner/CSI type shows. And Delaney’s whiny voice has irritated me since she was on China Beach. On another note, why the slinky black dress, in her ME’s office?

Dana Delany looks really good in the picture-better than she did on Desperate Housewives. Sounds like a good show.

  • David

Sounds like a rip-off of Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta books.

    • JF

Glad I’m not the only one who has noticed the similarities to Cornwell’s Scarpetta character. Love her books.

  • Nikki

I will be really upset if it is a rip off of the Scarpetta series. I love the series and if they are basing the show on the books, they really keep the same roots etc. and do it justice.

  • julistglad

Me too, sounds like Kay Scarpetta; I love P Cornwell’s series and was hoping for a movie out of it.

So glad to see Dana Delany in a new TV program, she is a great asset to viewing. Thank you!
