Image Credit: Glenn Watson/USA NetworkUSA has confirmed to EW that the Burn Notice prequel — focusing on Sam Axe (played by Bruce Campbell) — will air sometime in Spring 2011. Deadline reports the two-hour movie will center on Sam’s final 2005 mission with the Navy SEALs, which involved a group of Colombian rebels. USA decided to greenlight a prequel after noticing Campbell’s popularity at Burn Notice‘s first trip to Comic-Con a year and a half ago; fittingly, the network announced the movie would indeed happen earlier this year at 2010′s Comic-Con.

Yippee! There can never be enough Bruce Campbell. Love, love love him!
They just noticed his popularity at Comic-Con? He’s Ash. Give me some sugar, baby.
He’s also Briscoe County Jr.!
And the King of Thieves from Xena!
Right, how do you hire Campbell and not knwo that???
Studio exes are like goldfish when it comes to what actors have done in the past (a 2 second memory), its all about what they are doing right now. But I can’t rip on these guys, Bruce has a new movie! With sound writing!! and not on Scifi/Syfy!!! Happy day indeed.
I cannot wait for this. I missed Bruce Campbell on the big screen. That being said, if he doesn’t behead a single zombie, I will consider the movie a horrendous failure.
I love Bruce beheading zombies more than anyone (huge Evil Dead fanboy), but there will be no zombies in this.
Ya know. . . cuz it’s Burn Notice.
You know spies…
Bunch of b!tchy little girls.
Well said….”Sam Axe”
Looking forward to it and it explains why he is looking much trimmer on tv Burn Notice
Let’s hope we learn the origin of Chuck Finley (I’m assuming one of the writers was a fan of the baseball player, or the teams he played on?).
That would be sweet. It would be funny if there is an actual Finley.
I can dig it. Just make sure some mojitos are on tap. . .
So the producers think Bruce is popular at Comic-Con because of Burn Notice? I started watching Burn Notice because of Bruce. Now I just watch it because it is great TV.
You and me both. When I first saw Burn Notice advertized with Bruce in it, and I thought, “I have to watch it! I don’t care what it is!” I mean, I watched him in Bubbahotep…
Me too.
Hail to the King, baby!
Bruce should have a cameo in every show.
I love that he has a prequel coming out, I just wish he wasn’t being featured less and less in the actual show.
I am so glad that he is getting a prequel. I love Bruce Campbell! He was a big reason why I started watching the show to begin with. More Sam Axe!
This is going to be so AWESOME! How can you not notice that Bruce has a HUGE following?
Love him
Hey David Shore – Bruce Campbell should be your new Rockford.
