Sean Young is certainly letting it all hang out in prime time these days. First, she became one of six participants on ABC’s Skating With the Stars, and now she’s serving as an inaugural guinea pig in Celebrity Life Coach, a backdoor pilot that will air on the Biography Channel this evening at 10 p.m. ET/PT. In this one-hour special from Endemol USA, life coach Lauren Zander works with Young, whose career hit a serious wall after her good work in ’80s films like Blade Runner and No Way Out.
“The tabloids had a field day,” the A&E press release reads. “With Lauren’s help, can Sean stop her self-defeating behaviors and make it back to Hollywood?“
Now there’s a question for the ages. In this clip, Young attempts to mend fences by placing calls to certain Hollywood directors. (Yikes). If the special scores well enough in the ratings, Bio may pick up the show to series.

Coming soon to a theater near you…”The Psycho That Wouldn’t Go Away”.
Sean Young was an adequate actress at best. When your best work is Ace Ventura Pet Detective, well that says something. I remember when she went on Joan Rivers dressed as Cat Woman and I said, that tether has snapped. There’s not enough reality shows to put her back together. Yet like the wreck she presents herself to be, I can’t turn away either. But I won’t be tuning in. I have my own life of craziness to tend to.
HD she is a great actress. Ever hear of Blade Runner, No way out and oh so many others? What about forgiveness?
Sean Young was a good actress. It would be nice to see if she lands a comeback role following this.
I totally agree, George.
I would like to see Sean Young vs Margot Kidder in a battle to the death. Take away their Clozapine and put them in a locked, windowless room. Put that on Lifetime.
I like that someone is actually making tv shows about positive things. Sean Young was excellent in the few movies she made and then the rumor mill started, fueled by some bad behavior on her part. I wish her the best and hope the coach in this show is up to the challenge….
I try to be an optimist, but I just don’t see it.
Even if Sean Young didn’t have all the baggage she does, it’s tragically difficult for almost ANY actress her age to stay relevant in Hollywood: just ask Michelle Pfeiffer, Daryl Hannah or Meg Ryan (and her new face).
I feel bad for her. That clip was hard to watch. I hope she finds happiness in her life. It doesn’t have to come from Hollywood. BTW I thought she was great in “Blade Runner,” “No Way Out” and “Cousins.”
Was a bit of a bore. This show won’t last unless we start seeing crying, screaming and hair pulling.
Sean has been partially a victim of her handlers and reps most of her career; seems these days she has a better team around her (as witnessed by the above clip) and that has probably been the reason we see her making this comeback!
Lauren Zander is not your ordinary “life coach” or therapist… she caused a breakthrough in Sean’s life because of the depth of the Handel Group method. People spend years in therapy and would never have accomplished what Lauren and Sean did in the short time they spent together. I hope this show continues and is able to inspire a lot of people to make the same kinds of changes in their lives.
You wouldn’t happen to be Lauren’s sister, would you?
Show is a bust. I fell asleep 20 mins in. Who cares about watching some old celeb whine while a life coach whines back. Plus this was a show about Sean Young not life coach Lauren Zander. And what is the Handel Method. It was never mentioned–or I was asleep for that part.
I don’t watch tv because it bores me and I have little time and choose to spend it doing other things. I thought the show was very well done. This is not about a celeb. It is about a person and it could be you or me. It is about asking all the right questions, being honest, being truthful to yourself, and letting go. Don’t spend your energy on the things that don’t matter. Lauren is clearly skilled and if you check the web, she has done a lot of great work. So everyone has the right to sleep but this was just as much about Lauren and her skill set as it was about Sean. Wake up!
I saw it just now – finally a positive reality show! good for Sean young! She is fantastic!
Good for you Sean! The Bio special I just watched twice was a breakthru in reality television. Honest, sincere, raw emotions and truthful. I applaud your courage and can’t wait to once again enjoy your performances. We have missed you, Sean. Welcome back!
BRAVE….it takes courage, and tenacity to look yourself in the mirror (nonetheless) do it in front of millions of viewers and be HONEST! Whether she makes a comeback or not…she has more gumption and integrity for “trying” to overcome her fears than most people have admitting their shortcomings. Whatever the outcome..”YAY” for second chances…EVERYONE deserves them!
and to SEAN….You are Old Hollywood Glam…You Go Girl!!!
I watched the entire show, and I could see that Sean was holding a lot of grudges about the past; with that said, I think she probably was treated horribly by former co-stars and she cannot open up about specific issues due to legal implications. As a recovering alcoholic, I don’t think living with her ex-husband is the best scenario for her family, they should be divorced or married again, going back and forth with being together and fighting and his continued drinking, leaves me to believe she can be her own worst enemy. It was never clear why she had to made amends with Kevin Costner, her co-star more than 25 years ago, I would have liked Sean to delve into how she had so many issues with co-stars. I remember her saying negative things about Harrison Ford while making “Blade Runner”, so her attitude has been the same for many years. I was glad to see her on “The Young & the Restless” and wished that CBS had kept her character around, I know Eric Braeden helped her get that job; unfortunately they cut her story short. I concluded at the end of the show that things turn around for her.
I accidently tuned and and wound up watching the whole thing. Nice to see she’s owning her mistakes. But then, I remembered: She’s an actress and can probably cry on cue. Hints: No redness around the eyes, no facial color changes at all when the tears are leaking down. It would be nice for her if she got a break or two, but keep in mind she’s an actress and this may have been the most important role of her career.
I disagree. I did see honesty…not acting. Some of the topics and the way they were reviewed, delt with, and then set aside will be a tremendous help to others.
