With an average of 3.5 million viewers over its six-episode seasonĀ aged 18 to 49, the zombie series, based on Robert Kirkman’s graphic novels, is now the most watched drama series in basic cable history in theĀ ad-favored demo, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Do you mean 4.5 million avg viewers? Can’t wait for Series 2!
The message should be clear, we want to see more Walkers and we want to see them now. AMC better get on the ball otherwise a long hiatus will undercut this very clear momentum in viewership.
How typical, finally a drama actually worth watching on TV, and it’s a lousy 6 episodes long! Why couldn’t V or The Good Wife be that short?
But The Good Wife is good!!!
I love this show!!
I wish the Walking Dead would be on for 2 hours.I like the show but it would be nice if it was on for a little longer. But I’m looking forward for a 2nd season.I hope it will be soon .
Totally agree with Francisco! The drama is great because it’s a dramatic show but the thrill and fun of the Zombie genre is the chase, the gun shots to the head, losing a couple of members of the group to be eaten and the ACTION… the show needs to be 50/50 with a mix of drama and action. We need to see more zombies, more characters running for their lives and overall more action. With that being said, i LOVE the show and watched every episode this season. Lastly, how could AMC be okay with a season two premiere ALL the way in October! millions will have forgotten about the show by then!! TWD is the first ever hour-long drama about the Zombie apocalypse… take risks and keep the action coming!
I want me more geeks way before october 2011.
Although I agree a zombie show should have more zombies chasing nonzombies, I think what they’re trying to do is make us get to know and care for these characters before they’re chased and, in some cases, eaten by geeks. I’m in, y’all!
Nice, a reference to Atlanta, Georgia.
It is filmed in and around Atlanta. Check the credits at the end.
